Yeah, Robin shouldnt' even be a character until the third or fourth film, preferrably the fourth. The second film is just far too early for Batman to even consider taking in a sidekick, since he's still new himself.

Yea. I only said I would like to see him appear in the end of the third film because Nolan most will not do more than 3 Batman films. But if he was signed to do more than the fourth film would be perfect time for Dick to be introduced; at age 9 though.

Age 9? That's really young.

I like Spider-Fan's whole diddy there, it could be done well, but I agree, BB2 is too early to introduce Robin or even Dick.

Age 9 is when his parents got killed...that or age 8. Let me quote myself for further explanation because I do not want to retype it.

Here is what I would like. Have Dick Grayson appear as a young boy (8 or 9 or however old he is in the comics when he is introduced) towards the end of the 3rd film. Show his parents' death and at the very end of the film have Bruce adopt him.

You guys may wonder why I say 8 or 9 for his age...here is why:

- I like to stick to as close to the comics as possible and even if they change how his parents die at least get his age right. It is somewhat special/symbolic/or whatever you want to call it because he is supposed to be the same as as Bruce was when his parents were killed.

- It would be at the end of the 3rd film so you would not have to worry about him becoming Robin yet and wearing the suit. But he could at least start some kind of training: practicing his acrobatics, detective work, throwing the batarangs, etc; just not fighting crime yet.

- I think Batman Forever made a huge mistake with making Robin so much older when first meeting Bruce. Obviously Bruce did not become the father figure and he did not listen to him. Yes even if Dick is younger they might get to a rough start but not with him being some huge rebel like in Batman Forever.

Yeah, I remember seeing that post now.

But was he that young in the comics? I thought he was like 12 or something.

Nope. That is one of the things that makes the connection to Bruce so special...same age or similar as when Bruce experiences that trauma.

I don't mind the age thing, having his parents die when his 9ish is fine as long as its shown that he doesn't become robin like the same year. a 9 year old runing around fighting crime seem wierd, they need to show that he spend a few or more years dealing with his issues, training and stuff

Oh yea exactly. I never said anything about him becoming Robin at age 9. That does not happen in the comics anyway. I also never said about him being Robin at all unless they made more than 3 films.

so if you take my story line make him 9 when his parents die in his movie, then ust show him going through training all thought 3, and have him first becoming robin at end of 3, if they make a 4th, and have him fully as robin, he will be like 13-14 maybe older depending on how much time pasts between movie timeline wise

Hey will robin be in one of the movies that might be cool but like in batman and robin the oldm ovie where robins soot looked like nightwings but red it will have to be like that you know still hooked up like rookie in batman in begins and his suit will have to be the coolest uit ever maybe a suit with a hooked in grappler. and it should remain mostly true like marbe batman discovers him by goin to the circus and hes flyin above and his dad gets shot and then he takes down the killer as soon as the last shot is shot at his mother and all of his family is allready dead. He should be allot like his older self nightwing

I was going to make a remark about you being an idiot but then I saw your location and it made me laugh.

ok i think batman rocks and it might be cool to see robin in one of the sequels

There are a few other topics on this already.Perhaps you could contribute there.

I think it'd be kinda cool if they have Batman decide to train him as Robin at the very end of the third movie. Then the 4th movie could take place like 2 years later or so, just as Robin is finishing his training. The movie could open with Robin's final test (similar to the graphic novel The Gauntlet). It would help to show that Batman didn't just take this kid and say "hey, put on a costume and come fight badguys with me". He should actually train the **** out of this kid for years before even letting him on the streets. That could also happen over movies 4 and 5.

Also, your post is painful to read. Typing with your face is never a good idea, fingers are much more accurate.

Yea if they do make more than 3 films (which I doubt) then they should take elements from The Gauntlet. Only thing is that instead of him training him as Robin throughout the third film I would not do that til the fourth. If he were to train him as Robin in the third film however, I would prefer it just be stuff like detective work and improving his acrobatics.

But yeah, use some punctuation please.

And maybe the search function while you're at it.

you are an amazing specimen

I'm just trying to see who could think of Robin as one of the characters.

Maybe you should vist here.

Then read this, and realize that this thread wasn't needed...

"The studio wasn't interested in Robin. We weren't either. This is a young Batman, so Robin's a few films....not for a few pictures anyway. Dick Grayson's still in a crib somewhere. I seriously doubt I will even be involved when Robin's in the franchise." -Christopher Nolan
