how many more minutes added on???
About maybe 1 minute or so, a few shots of the young board executive getting bullet ridden by ED-209 and more graphic shots of Murphy's death, very cool.

The long out print Criterion Collecion has the un-rated cut only with commentaries by Paul Verhoeven and the writers ported over from the laserdisc verion, it was released in the early days of DVD so it's non-anamorphic.

The more recent 20th anniversary release has both un-rated and theatrical cut with new commentary with Verhoeven and the writers, very cool if you're a completist like me then try to get both since some stuff on the Criterion Collection are not on this DVD.

Both the Criterion and the 20th anniversary each have different special features and commentaries.

There was another version released by MGM in 2001 I believe but that one just has a measly trailer as an extra.

Before the 20th anniversary, MGM released "RoboCop Trilogy". It had RoboCop (the first) with both versions (the uncut and theatrical version) and the same extras of the first dvd or the 20th anniversary. The sequels only had the trailers as extras.

Cillian Murphy, Adam Baldwin or Val Kilmer would all make an awesome Robocop. Will Arnet as well, if he could take the role seriousley.

thanks guys, so pretty much getting the 20th anni set would be good to get?

I have both the Criterion AND the Trilogy sets and both only have the uncut versions only, the 20th anniversary 2 disc has the R cut on one disc and the unrated one on the other ;).

The version on the Blu Ray is also the unrated cut (incredibly, it includes none of the bonus features from the 20th Anniversary edition). If you don't care about extra gore (and frankly, I'm not sure why anyone, anywhere cares about extra gore), then it will not matter which version you watch. If you think the film would be improved by a few seconds (literally) of extra gore, then the unrated cut is worth seeing.

Personally, I find the unrated cut a little annoying, because the image quality of those few seconds is noticeably reduced from the rest of the film.

Yeah the Blu Ray version has some extra gore, especially when Boddicker & co. shoot Murphy.. :(

Weird! Here in Spain we had the Trilogy with these extras:

4 Deleted Scenes
"Flesh and Steel - The Making of Robocop" Featurette
"Shooting Robocop" Featurette
"Making Robocop" Featurette
Audio Commentary by the Director, Co-Writer and Executive Producer of Robocop
Storyboard with Commentary by Animator Phil Tippett
Photo Gallery
2 Original Theatrical Trailers
TV Spot

Also, you can change the version you wanna see. There´s a menu before the movie will play, when you choose between the theatrical version or the uncut. So that´s why I found weird that you don´t have that on your version!

just watched the blu-ray film...
its so crisp! even the stop motion robot looks great lol

I remember wanting to rent this movie when I was 5 because of the badass movie poster at my local video store.

I dont know. LOL. I existed before him though. I created this name back in 04 on AvP galaxy, and I know the other CELTICPRED resides there. :D

And I was here before the other DH. In fact my name goes back to the early days of xbox live. When people were nice.
