RogueDK's art dump

I've been dabbling with Photoshop lately and though it's still kind of confusing, I'm getting a little more familiar with the different utensils to coloring.

Here's probably my second or third thing I've colored as of late.

I still prefer the hand way of doing this but it's not bad to upgrade your arsenal in certain instances. Thanks for looking.

Just by happenstance a couple of weeks ago, I met a guy at the art store and found out that he was an aspiring inker. Well I sent him a copy of the Supergirl pic I posted previously and he took a stab at it.

Here's another page from my horror comic. I just did this in brush, pen and watercolor wash and tinted it in Pshop. Very little pencil was used because I hate going over my lines again sometimes.

Hope you all like and thanks for looking. :cwink:

My son recently entered a school art contest for Black History month with an "Aspirations" theme to it. Well for years, my son has always stated that he plans to be an animator when he grows up. Given the stipulations of the contest, Bruce Timm was automatically omitted from his list of idols. lol

He thought about drawing Bruce W. Smith or James Tucker but he decided to go with longtime animator Dan Haskett who is responsible for coming up with Ariel's look from The Little Mermaid and worked briefly on BTAS in the 90s among other achievements.

Btw, my son got hosed and came in second place. It made him feel good that when the student body saw this, there was a collective boo from the audience. They knew it was poor judging. I just told him that that's life, tough it out and move ahead. Every dog has his day so to speak.

I thought he put alot of effort into this piece...

First time ever drawing She-Hulk and I have tons of the old Byrne Avengers and SH books in my stash. Don't know what compelled me to do this one but it was long overdue and it was fun... Thank you for taking time to look. :)

Love your shading and detail in her hair and shorts.:)

Free time in-between assignments so I doodled this for fun...

Only been dabbling in PS color for a couple months but I decided to try my hand at the PG pic I just drew:

If nothing else, I'm getting faster with the procedure.

I thought I'd do another version of Joker but this one's more of a b&w movie kind of style. I wanted to design more of a 40s, noirish type Joker and less caricaturized.

I love the Joker. :) Your work is fantastic but watch out your son is soon going to be telling you what to do. His work is amazing. :)

Sorry for any late response, Sensi but thank you. Yeah, my son definetely has the chops to outdo me someday but what parent wouldn't want their kids to be better off than we are? He's a natural, he just doesn't indulge in art as much as I do at this point in his life. :yay:

Here's a pic I did when I couldn't sleep at all the other night. Didn't start getting sleepy until I was close to finishing it but by then it was time to shower for work. I was crazy tired finishing this up.

Thanks, Vartha. :yay:

Well of course me and the kid had to go opening weekend. As far as what I thought of it, it was a pretty fun flick but a little uneven. I would've loved it more had they
not tried to force the love angle with Jane Foster (in just two days on Earth? Seriously?) and if the climax was more epic. I mean even Almighty Odin, although in the end would be the victor, would still have a problem defeating the enchanted Destroyer and Thor did it in seconds. Talk about lazy and rushed. We're talking THE DESTROYER armor here!

And the only thing that I couldn't forgive? Thor not wearing his helmet enough. I mean, he looked so cool in the beginning with it on; you saw him and you knew that it was Thor. If it got knocked off during battle, then I'd be okay with it as long as I saw it on to begin with.
Loki's was alot more cumbersome looking yet he wore it more than once...EVEN IN BATTLE. BTW, Hiddleston was amazing as Loki! Stole the movie IMO.

Maybe it's nitpicking on my part but that's how I felt. That being said, still buying the dvd whenever it becomes available. :woot:

Love the camel toe lol.

I laughed so hard at your post. It's really her butt cheeks at an angle. Prior to posting this pic I made a little adjustment to show the difference because I said the same thing too. Thanks for looking though. :funny::funny::funny:

Yeah I had the same nitpik about Destroyer. Either they gave Sif a super-weapon like Thor's hammer or they weakened him quite a bit!

Yeah I agree, the fight should have lasted a few minutes longer, super film by the way, one of the best comic book adaption's I think.:)

Despite my reservations for the film, it was a good way to start of the summer movie season. However, if I ever met Hemsworth in passing, I'd tell him to rock the winged top abit more. Sorry but I'm too old school with something like that; maybe not a big deal to many but it was to me. Part of what makes Thor's aesthetic look so awesome is the jacked up, red, flowing cape... and HIS HELMET!
Is that too much to ask? :csad:

Here's a sketch that I doodled and decided to add a little color to it in PS. Just something to pass the time really...

Well I agree it's probably the best Adaption at Marvel but, I don't think it's the best out of ALL the Comic Book films. Even being a huge fan. IF it were the best they would have made the film longer and tried to give a tad more history or background of ALL the characters involved with Thor. They chopped the heck out of all the Frigga scenes.

heh Rouge man, this isn't modeled after Arnold is it? HMMMM wonder what gave you that inspiration if it is? :D

To me, I liked the idea that they're using the Helmet more as a crown and Thor has stated he's not ready for the title of the Crown yet.

Vartha, we must be on the same wavelength because after finishing this last night, I thought the same thing. Well figuratively speaking, at least, yeah it could be him. LOL.

Yeah that might have some merit as a theory but still...Loki wore his despite his dubious "title" even when he fought. And not just Thor - where was Hogun's? Or Volstagg's for that matter? Going into battle with no headgear? It's my own little nitpicks but little things like that I notice. And besides, that's an awesome looking helmet and Thor wears a helmet whether he's worthy of the throne or not.
My son, who's probably as big a Thor fanatic as you was let down by these little details but we both went in seeing this with high expectations. My fears for his look sans helmet make me think that Marvel is trying to take him in a direction that I don't care to see...

I swear, if he goes Ultimate in the sequel or Avengers I am going to cuss. Not curse, CUSS. :cmad:

We both give the movie a B-. The Incredible Hulk remains Marvel's best production thus far. That's an A-. :word:
