Rothman speaks...

I will give 1 million dollars to the person that brings me Rothman's head...
I hate that guy ...

I wish MARVEL would get their act together and at least TRY to get the rights back ...
Can't they claim creative control? X-Men is a Marvel product... not Fox...

For now, I want Marvel just to concentrate on their Avengers project. Let Fox do as many Movies as they want in the meantime, I'll just ignore those Movies. After Marvel is done with all their projects, then they should try to get the rights back.

If it's true it's good news...if he is doing this to hope the box office results are better and lying...then I will personally feral rage on him.:woot:

Gah. Rothman seems like a complete and utter BS'er.

but benefit of the doubt, I suppose.

I'm still seeing it in theaters. I just have no need to do a midnight showing. I mean, I saw X3 3 times in theaters. I'm an X-Men ****e.

Ditto

I can't front, I feel bad for these guys. Especially Hugh. I can imagine wantin to show off your project, only to have it spoiled. Probably feels like someone broke into your house and stomped on your birthday cake. I mean Hugh is a pure showman and entertainer. Dude dances and sings and does all kinds of s#$%, he's probably bummed that he didn't get to deliver this the way he wanted.

Hugh Jackman is awesome .

It's amazing how transparent this all really is and how gullible some people seem to be.
Imagine if things were reversed and the leaked workprint showed a film that, even in raw form, was pretty awesome.
Would SHH have taken down all those threads if people were praising it left and right?

Yes. It was a matter of keeping spoilers from an illegal copy of the movie off the boards. It had nothing to do with reviews.

It worked for Daredevil.

Then again, that was like 30 minutes longer. ha.

wow, i was totally unaware about this. not to get off topic but could someone please explain to me the differences in the Daredevil directors cut, or extended version, or whatever it is?

No...10 minutes cannot salvage this film and they are only doing so due to the negative feedback they got from the leak.

SUCK IT ROTHMAN!

:pal:

condolences, Hugh Jackman. I loved the prestige--but still wonder why you did Kate and Leopold. Shame.

Night and day.

If you had a million dollars you wouldn't be on this board.

:cwink:

You do realize that actors and director's who are more than likely millionaires come here from time to time. Hell, I could be the richest man in the world and I'd still come to the Hype.

Wouldn't be surprised if there were some pickup shots missing from the workprint. But I dunno if anything that would drastically help the story or character development, but I guess we'll have to see.

Still amused by Rothman's hypocrisy. No, the pirates aren't the ones holding back Fox productions the most, it's the studio itself! :oldrazz:

Rothman also said this movie is easier to understand than Dark Knight and alot more emotional than Batman or Two-Face haha. >_>
Easier to understand maybe in the final cut. 70% of the time while watching the workprint, I was like, "Why are these characters here and what are they doing?" At least in TDK, the plot was complicated but you knew exactly what each individual character's motivations were from scene to scene.

I feel nothing for Rothman but I do feel for Hugh who has been extremely cool to the X-Men fanbase for over 10 years.

Overall, this is very good news for me as I held out hope for a slightly longer cut. I'll certainly be there opening day and I hope many others are aswell.

I didn't think the Director's Cut of DD made the film a masterpiece, it just made it a competent film. Even if the different between the hard copy and final copy of XOW is as big as the theatrical cut versus the director's cut of Daredevil, it still won't be a franchise redeemer I don't think.

The only one I feel bad for is Hugh Jackman. I may not have liked the movie at all, but Jackman is still awesome. I can easily tell that he loves playing the part of Wolverine, and I can only imagine how disappointed he is about this leak. He's probably the only reason why I won't feel like I'm wasting my time (and money) when I see the movie in theaters on May 1st.

Rothman, though? I couldn't care less about how he feels. 'Nuff said.

I don't believe so. They say its 10 minutes and its suppose to focus on Deadpool, Wolverine and so on. I don't wanna talk more about the spefifics cuz im scared of getting banned.:csad:

More refined editing could definitely help with pacing. In a lot of movies they don't always make it clear what's going on, but you're intrigued instead of frustrated.

Still not convinced that those extra 10 minutes will help with the revolving door aspect of the supporting characters.

I doubt that they're going to fix Deadpool in the final cut. Barakapool was Rothman's vision for the character, and I don't see him backing down from it and spending a million bucks or however much it would cost to correct the inadequacy of the character's representation. If anything, I expect they might insert an addition shot or two of Barakapool kicking ass in the climax, but that's not going to make fans any happier.
