Rothman speaks...

I'm still holding out hope that Deadpool's look will be improved. The footage of him in the trailers doesn't look all that great, but didn't Rothman say the character was going to be "state of the art"?

The only thing that might redeem the film would be making baraka crap pool be someone different then Deadpool/Wade...
(Won't happen, the toys are already out there in the wild)
I honestly thought that X3 was the worst butchering that could be done to superhero franchise.
I just do not understand why they feel the need to ruin an existing character when ALL that they have to do is make a new one that they can make become whatever they want it to be.
Why is that so hard?
Rothman gets no sympathy.

like nathan said. and the effects will not be state of art. rising sun and CO are not big enough to make state of art effects. they are good to help ILM,sony ,DD and weta out if they can not handle everything.

when was the last time ILM,sony or digital domain made the effects for a FOX movie? i know that the silver surfer was from WETA

Some of the effects in the leak were already finished and they were not state of the art. Deadpool in the trailers is more than likely already finished and yeah.........................

Looking at the toy releases it pretty much locks in that what you see is what you get.

I have to be honest and say that, in some form, I'm happy the movie has leaked and has bad reviews... Fox and Rottman deserved this.

Sorry, but that's what I think. And sorry for Wolverine the movie, I'll always preffer X-men vs Logan.

i agree.

what are the chances that the guy who leaked was maybe a member from the forums and was just a guy who worked on a FOX movie?
maybe he was at the right time at the right place. he likes comicbook movies and he hates FOX. maybe:hehe:

I agree so much. Had FOX put a lot of effort into this movie akin to WB with Dark Knight, and hired quality writers and directors with a passion for the art, then i would see the leak as a bad thing and would not support it. But they obviously don't, they'll keep making low-quality products until consumers take a stand and stop supporting them. Had Batman and Robin not flopped we would never have got Nolan on board. Lets hope the same happens here.

The only thing that can save the X franchise is rights to revert back to Marvel from fox.

Reboot! Reboot!

<sits down and cries>

I saw in your tag you have your fan-fict fixing up X-3. Clearly Fox made this abomination to allow you another fan-fict to clean this mess up. I blame you for clearly having a tie to Fox allowing them to screw up movies, which in turn give you ammunition to do your fan-fiction. Conspiracies afoot!

the title is misleading

Rothman speaks ?

i thought he just let his S*** do the talking

God no. If Marvel makes an X-men movie it would feature no one but Wolverine Cyclops, and Emma.

According to them those are the only x-men that matter.

And that's better then the way Fox handles it because....? Just Wolverine is better then Wolverine, Cyclops and Emma?

And just because those characters are played up the most at the moment doesn't mean anything. Every point in time had different characters being more front-and-center in the X-Comics. In the 80s it was characters like Wolverine, Storm, and Rachel. In the 90s it was characters like Wolverine, Gambit, and Cable.

I think so. Cyke and Emma have become repugnant to me because Marvel's ham-handed pushing of the characters. A shame because i was really starting to like Cyke before.

And Wolverine hasn't? Okay. :o

Either way, in a movie that clearly wouldn't be the case no matter how you cut it. That's like when people said the Iron Man movie shouldn't be made be made because Tony was being a jerk in the comics and therefore Marvel would make him a jerk in the movie. Emma and Scott wouldn't even in the position to be as important as they are now in the comics since that occurred over years and years (Scott being raised as Xavier's successor and Emma hooking up with him after becoming a good guy). I think you're just bitter that Marvel is mishandling a character(s) you like right now because Scott and Emma are so exposed or you really are sick of their exposure at the moments so you're using that bitterness to say Marvel having the rights to their film franchise would be a bad idea despite Fox's track record.

Wow. So I'm not crazy. I complained in other forums how i felt like writers were trying to shove Cyclops and Emma down everyone's throats.

Wolverine is a bit different. For example, he isn't played as the Imperial-God-King-Messiah-General-Leader-of-all-mutantkind-who-can-do-no-wrong-and-has-a-totally-girlfriend. And you don't get a minimum of twelve pages an issue of Wolverine in bed with his squeeze.

I don't like the idea of marvel being in control of the franchise because at least with a studio, they work with the characters based off their popularity and a particular actor's love of the character. With Marvel, you'd get a bunch of fanboys trying to pimp their character in addition to marvel using the movie to advance whatever publishing agenda they have in the comics.

Honestly, I'd rather see the franchise in the hands of another studio like WB who is willing to work with directors than Fox or marvel.

Well Cyclops is specifically NOT the Messiah, and I don't get where you're getting this "he can do no wrong" bit. The comics have specifically emphasised that he has been making hard choices now that times are desperate. Choices that sacrifice characters for the greater good. And characters have pointed out how cruel his decisions have been, even if they have been justified.

I really don't see any instance of the Marvel writer fanboyism translating into film. As far as I remember, they still hire professional film writers, film directors and the like. Some have taken input from comic writers, but I don't see how this fantasy scenario where the comic writers would plug their bias in a film would occur. :o

Man, that's a brilliant piece of research.

Watch that video again and think of all the obvious body language stuff you see on Lie To Me.
It just qualifies Rothman's guilt!

Tim Roth Vs Tom Rothman- "Wha's dat? Keeps looking down- 'e's 'iding something", innee? Yep, it's shame..."

I would honestly NOT get tired of punching Rothman in the face, what a ****ing scumbag.

And if you do, we could take turns.

I just had to add that it makes sense to push a character when they are popular with fans (i.e. Gambit et al). What's kind of annoying about their pushing Cyke and Emma is that they aren't all that popular with the fans. Its like each one has fanboys at Marvel that are pushing them regardless of how the readership feels.

I knew it, but then again, "how many times do you have to be @%&@ by a goat before you begin to baaaaaaa." I'll never give Fox one red cent of my hard earned, until they prove they're capable of getting it right.

Including Narnia!

Just leave Rothman... you hack!
