IDGAF what the critics say, if I see this movie tonight and love it I'm coming back here and raving about it. The caps lock button will be abused...

I completely agree.

I find him to be the film equivalent to Joe Quesada for Marvel.

if you watch CBC, Joel pretty much said that, lol
anyway are we going too much off topic?

Looks like they changed the consensus summary...

Indeed, it's now the unflattering summary that reflects it's rating.

While the cast is outstanding and the special effects are top-notch, the latest installment of the Spidey saga suffers from an unfocused narrative and an overabundance of characters.

It should be even worse really. Think on all those reviews that are unflattering 3/5 and the critic pushed fresh. Any other film those would be rotten. Spidey still got a pass on plenty of critics while they wrote uneven comments about TASM2

It kind of sounds like you might like it just to spite the consensus. If you want to love this movie, sight unseen, go for it. I'm seeing it tonight, despite the alarming reviews because I like Spider-man. But whether I like it or not, I don't think that will make the critics right or wrong. It's just my opinion whether it fits or not. Same with yours.

Rotten Tomatoes be like

It's a damn shame that alot of people won't be seeing a great Spider-man movie and watch an awful bootleg copy instead because of the rottentomatoes score (56), which is unfair imo. Specially with movies like Thor: TWD, that imo, is one of the most unsatisfying cbms i've ever seen, but it still gets an 76% on RT. Those 'critics' must have been expecting an Oscar-****ty movie, which it's not. But it's not trying to be either. It's just a fun, exciting movie with great acting, good action and has some really good emotinal moments, which I think, it's what sets this movie apart from other blockbuster movies.

People should check it out and make an opinion of their own.

Exactly.

At this point all Sony can hope for is that this film gets the Michael Bay treatment since all of those Transformer films are south of 60% (one at 20%) yet still rakes in a boat load of cash in spite of it.

Of course the issue with that is that people may reserve a higher standard for comic book movies like Spider-man given how the bar has been constantly raised.

Some people respond to RT in different ways.

Some will downplay it saying

don't%20care.gif

Others will go overboard

some can't believe what they are seeing

I wanted to make sure when I got to say "I told you so" I used it wisely.

I think that might be a problem. At least Transformers has the luxury of people watching it just to see robots fight, rather than having a emotionally deep life-changing story. Whereas, Spider-Man relies on emotional depth, a compelling story, and drama/tragedy in order to attract the mass.

Thor TDW has a 65 my friend. :)

It was fresh but it still got a mixed reception just like The Amazing Spider-Man did.

I need to go back and watch this, apparently. Which one was it?

Also is it available on streaming? I'm always up for way more cartoon Spidey (same with Bats, JL, and X-Men!)

Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends might be perfect for your little boy to watch, Suzanne. It's cute, silly and kid-friendly. "His Amazing Friends" are Firestar (from FF) and Iceman, long with a puppy named Ms. Lion. The animation is basic, which probably won't bother him too much at his age. I'm not sure it holds up for adults but the little ones might have a ball with it.

lol that is to funny even though it is hurting to see a movie getting this kind of reviews. If I love the movie it wont hurt has much.
