A guy who could take on Batman toe to toe...

We need another villain like that. I love the cerebral villains but we need a villain who can hand Batman his ass physically. Some one who is a also highly skilled in martial arts.

I would hardly call Ra's lame....he's far from it, in fact, but after four years I'm tired of people still discussing him returning. It'd be like us discussing Two-Face still being able to return even if isn't in Batman 3. Right now it's possible, but if he doesn't return in Batman 3, then he's meant to be unequovically dead. Ra's has been dead and buried for four years, and didn't even get mentioned in TDK. He's not coming back.

Joker kicking Batman's butt in TDK was so hard for me to believe. Begins sets up the fact that Bruce Wayne is a brute who beats any foe that gets in his way. He's given fancy armor to protect him from injury, and we're supposed to believe some scrawny clown with a pipe can take this guy down?

Mentally, and with some creative traps, Joker can test Batman and put up a good fight, but not physically. Batman would tear Joker apart in a simple hand-to-hand fight.

How about seeing both the Joker & Bane? That'd provide the ultimate challenge for Batman because he's being challenged mentally by both, and physically only by Bane, who is much stronger. That'd be pretty cool to see.

But whilst I do wanna see Joker back, I don't want him as one of the main antagonists. I think he would be more effective as literal jack in the box who pops up randomly to screw around with Batman AND the main antagonist.

Indeed it would. And it would be completely different from any other franchise. The hero actually being defeated at the end. Not all things have to have happy endings.

I think an adaptation of Knightfall would ****ing rock.

The joker's guys try breaking him out from Arkum, but are unable too, but Two-Face escapes. Using his former collieges as pawns, he takes control of the rouge ex soldiers of Maronis and Falcone... Two-Face, knowing the Bat will try and stop him hires an Ex Russian Hit Man who goes by the name of Bane (I know he's from Brazil, but seeing a tattooed (think eastern promises) roided up bad ass would be much cooler) to break the bat.

agreed, there was more fighting in begins but the camera was so close up you couldnt tell what the hell was going on. They fixed that in TDK but there wasnt any significant hand to hand combat scenes. Im anxiously awaiting a fight. Id like to see Catwoman and Batman team up on Bane or something like that.

Would Nolan even want to do a character like that with the whole super steroids thing? If Nolan did Bane, I would imagine some of his steroid stuff would be played down.

If the BOF a-holes are to be trusted, Joker was indeed intended to play a HUGE role in the next one. So at least I can rest easy knowing that most of you who've been calling for Riddler and Catwoman (and thinking they are locks) are probably wrong.

If just that part of the scoop is true, and with Nolan working with two logical Joker replacements (DiCaprio, JGL) as we speak...

Hey Everyone,
I'm the first to admit, that I don't want to replace Heath Ledger, his performance was legendary, and if Christoper Nolan wants to continue the Batman series and use the Joker again, I'm not as against as I once was. There are some options with actors, who could not only take over the character but bring their own vision to it. The one that the Buzz is all about is, of course, Joseph Gordon Levitt. I have always liked him and enjoyed his acting. Because of his recent work and even just in the trailer of (500) days of summer, I can see him assuming the role. I also worked up a composite of how he would look, for the fun of it, and I must admit, he definitely looks the part. You can see it by going to the link below! I believe that with the right actor and with Christopher Nolan it is possible. However, Christopher Nolan may not want to continue with the Joker without Heath, and that is alright with me. Nonetheless, I hope he continues Batman's story because that is the core reason that I want another Batman movie from him. -klw
