I want to be the female hot headed Romulan Security Chief. Is the post open?

I want to name her Bellatrix. (Chose a Latin/Roman name thanks to Nero from Star Trek XI). Plus it means female warrior. So perfect for the security chief type. I also want to make her the Star Trek equivalent of street smart.

A character that leaps 5 times before looking and revels in the heat of battle.

The post is open. I'm on the security staff, but I'm not the boss. Glad I won't have to NPC one, too.

Sure, sounds good to me. With the Romulans and the Federation no longer enemies, I was hoping that we'd get a Romulan officer for the Enterprise crew.

Just fill out an app and get it ready to go for the IC thread. Or you can post it here so that others can get a feel for your character before hand.

I think I'm changing my character but it's still going to be the Op's position.

If that helps. :D

Character Name: Bellatrix

Race (Human, Ferengi, Klingon, Romulan, Bajoran, etc): Romulan

Rank and Position (First Officer, Doctor, Security Chief, Bartender, etc): Chief Security/Tactical Officer

Brief Back Story on Your Character: Born in the capital city of Romulus to an upper class family, Bellatrix since birth was ruthless and cunning in every endeavor. From the start she was groomed by her mother to use her natural beauty to seduce her enemies into submission and when the time came, stab them in the heart. She joined the military at a young age and rose through the ranks thanks in part to her tactical mind.

Her greatest achievement came during the Reman uprising of 2379. While Praetor Shinzon was away ion the Scimitar taking part in the “Battle of the Bassen Rift”. Bellatrix led a small group of Romulan Commandoes dubbed ‘Cleaning Crew’ (In Romulan) who stealthily slaughtered several Reman soldiers and subsequently helped the re-instigation of the Senate.

She would later have the honor of meeting Captain William Riker of the USS Titan during the peace negotiations between the Federation and the Romulans. She described him as a consummate flirt and a womanizer but still held him in high regard because in her words, “One of the few Human’s I have met who is more of a fighter and less of a talker. I like that.”

She, along with all remaining Romulans would receive the biggest shock of their lives in 2387 when a star near Romulus went supernova and reduced the home planet of the star empire to dust. Her entire family was killed and since then she holds an increasing animosity for Vulcans who in her words are liars and traitors, claiming to want to improve relations but during the time of need they did nothing. The emotionally and mental trauma may actually have had a positive effect because she is now less reckless and more controlled. Perhaps even a little colder.

Also, despite being a supporter of the new Federation-Romulan Alliance, she feels that the Star Empire is still strong enough to pick itself up without help. She supports the Alliance from the perspective that her newly earned knowledge and experience will turn her into a smarter and more dangerous fighter

Most recently, she spent some time on earth, honing her already near perfect marksman skills and has gained an interest in the so called ‘martial arts’ which impressed her though she is not willing to admit it. In her words, “I never thought that these mousy humans would actually at one time have developed ways to turn their own bodies into killing machines. I thought that was a Klingon thing”

Character Personality (list a brief description of their traits, morals, etc): A violent upbringing is not uncommon amongst the proud people of Romulus who even after making an uneasy peace with the Federation consider themselves better than the rest.

Despite being given the opportunity of having a comfortable life as member of the Senate, Bellatrix decided to join the military. The battlefield became her home away from home. Though unlike the Klingons she does not believe in pride and honor, she considers them frivolous window dressing and sees war for the brutal, chaotic mayhem it is.

She is cold, cunning and ruthless. Not exactly your cliché action girl either. She shows her quick wit to those whom she fancies and spits poison for those she despises. Despite all this, she is probably one of the more polite members of the crew. She is a wolf, ever watchful.

Description of Your Character's Appearance (or simply post a picture if you're able): Think Romulan, Summer Glau. Martial Arts & Guns? River Tam from Firefly!!

Color and Font of Your Character's Speech: Lucida Console. Blue.

What Can You Bring To This Game: TOS/DS9 style spice to your TNG style white collar proceedings. Maybe some Mass Effect (game). Maybe even Firefly.

How Often Do You Plan on Posting in a Week For This Game: As long as possible.

Sample Post:

Bellatrix sat in her quarters going through a performance report of the security crew. Suddenly, the door chimed. "Come in" she replied. The doors wooshed open to reveal Ensign Mathers, one of the many red shirts on her team but someone she had her eye on.

"Permission to speak freely maam?" he asked with a nervous voice.

"Go ahead" she replied, her sharp eyes still focussed on the report.

"I think you are being too harsh on the crew. I know you were inspired by Commander Tuvok's stories of the legendary USS Voyager Hazard Team (Star Trek: Elite Force game) but your obsessing too much over trivial things."

She takes a breath, the ensign expects to be shouted at but it's the same cold, calculating voice. It was worse, "
You know our responsibilities ensign. We can't afford to slack off. When push comes to shove, we will be the first and only line of defense. The sooner you understand the better. Someday, your'll thank me for it."

Before the ensign can offer a rebuttal, a shock wave shakes the entire ship. A buzzing sound is heard, a blue light appears in the middle of the room and two Klingon's suddenly appear.

In the blink of an eye, something shoots out of Bellatrix's hand hitting and she pounces on the other, disarming him and twisting his neck to breaking point. She stands up, dusting her hands and glances at the other Klingon, a special Romluan knife sticking out his forehead.

She cracks her knuckles.
"Klingons. Pfft! All talk!"

Suddenly, the communicator chimes, "This is the captain <pew pew> We are under attack! Security team head to Cargo Bay 2 and Deck 3."

Bellatrix gleefully picks up her Romulan disruptor (The captain allowed her to keep it despite regulations) and holsters both it and the blade. Time for work.
She leaves, with the Ensign not far behind, impressed once more. It felt safe having a killing machine on board the ship.

I hope she's not TOO MUCH of a stereotypical badass. Strong, silent type.
She's an anti-Worf

Looks good to me. As for Romulus being destroyed, I'm cool with that scenario. Can definitely work with it and add it into the opening rundown.

I noticed the oversaturation of badass.

We have:
An Andorian Patton
A Romulan River Tam
A Badass McCoy

The Captain looks tame compared to the above 3 crazies

Don't forget the First Officer with decades of Intelligence and killing experience.

...damn, all we need is for James Kirk to come out retirement.

So, we about ready to get this show on the road?

Don't worry. I plan to emulate Kirk in that my Captain will score with as many alien chicks as possible.
The only question is...do they have condoms in the 24 century?

So, we about ready to get this show on the road?

We are. Just waiting on MB to give the go ahead.

You've got your go-ahead now.

It's been specifically stated in cannon that humans, both men and women, can get monthly injections that suppress the functions of their sex organs. Dialogue suggests that A) This is one of the more common forms of birth control for 24th century humans, and B) the injections are less effective if only one person has been given them, so they obviously don't have a 100% success rate. I pay attention to these things.

And those are good things to pay attention to.

Also, OOC Thread will be up in a minute. :awesome:

Yep. Sisko forgot his monthly injection, and accidentally knocked Cassidy up. :awesome:

Character Name: Puk

Race (Human, Ferengi, Klingon, Romulan, Bajoran, etc): Changeling

Rank and Position (First Officer, Doctor, Security Chief, Bartender, etc): Ensign. Science Division. Blue Uniform.

Brief Back Story on Your Character:

In 2371 Puk was discovered as a gelatinous liquid in San Marcos, Texas near the San Marcos River. Trapped in the container sent to Earth in 2298 by the Founders, Puk's matrix was kept on the mantle of the woman who discovered it, Courtney Frazier, for 5 years. In 2376 the container became too small for Puk and she began to emerge from her birthing matrix. Mrs. Frazier was startled at first but after using her daughters old tricorder she discovered that the goo was a sentient lifeform. After taking Puk to the Johnson Space Center in Houston she discovered that this young lifeform was indeed a Changeling. Having lost her daughter to the Borg at the Battle of Wolf 359, Mrs. Frazier became attached to Puk and adopted the Changeling as her own daughter.

Puk grew rapidly and even received visits from Doctor Mora Pol, the Bajoran scientist who was the leading authority on Changelings and their development. Puk and her mother visited Ambassador Odo at Deep Space Nine in 2380 and Odo remarked how advanced Puk had become. With Doctor Mora and Odo's tutelage Puk became much more fluent in her shapechanging abilities and even mimicked humanoid forms with much greater skills.

In 2381 it was determined in a Federation Court of Law that Puk was indeed a citizen of the Federation. Puk's emergence from her birthing matrix was considered her birthdate and she was granted all the rights and privileges of an inhabitant of Earth.

In 2386 Puk was admitted into Starfleet Academy under the letters of recommendation from Captain Chakotay, Colonel Kira Nerys, and Ambassador Odo. Although the last two weren't members of Starfleet, their recommendations carried tremendous weight with the Admittance Board.

In January of 2389 Puk graduated second in her class with the highest marks in Quantum Theory and Temporal Mechanics. With her promotion to Ensign she became the first Changeling in Starfleet. She now awaits her first assignment.

Character Personality (list a brief description of their traits, morals, etc): Puk gets most of her personality from her mother. She's a Texas Lady and you'd best not underestimate her. She has an explorers heart and she's ready to learn more about the Galaxy. Because of her accelerated maturity she has a bit of innocent naivete but that only makes her more attractive to every person she's ever met. She's an optimist and she never met a person she didn't like. Her grasp of science is second to none. Dr. Mora even observed that her shapechanging ability has even emerged in her brain anatomy. She's taken on the neural patterns of Vulcans as well as her natural state of Terran. It's been hypothesized that she could even mimic a positronic pattern.

Description of Your Character's Appearance (or simply post a picture if you're able):

She still has a little trouble with ears.

Color and Font of Your Character's Speech: Blue Verdana

What Can You Bring To This Game: Ops. Science Officer. And the occasional techno babble.

How Often Do You Plan on Posting in a Week For This Game: 3 or 4. More during encounters.

Sample Post (Must be at least 4 paragraphs long and contain two lines of dialogue from your character):

Starfleet Academy
San Francisco

"Now ya got a little smidge right there. Lemme get that..."

"Momma! I'm in uniform. Ya just cain't go whipin' spit on me like that."

"I'll do what I damn well want too. It's not every day my baby graduates from Starfleet. I remember how proud I was when Ri..."

"Oh momma. It's ok. Now don't go cryin', you'll get me started. You know very well that Uncle Chakotay said Riley was just fine and homesteadin' in the Delta Quadrant. Now let's get to my quarters and pick up your picnic basket. I don't plan on getting my assignment before I have one more mess of your peach cobbler."

The two ladies enter the barracks and re-emerge a few minutes later. Puk is carrying a basket and Mrs. Frazier is carrying a blanket with Starfleet Academy logos all over it. They pass through the grounds on their way to Bay. As they walk by a strange old man with a wide straw hat stops Mrs. Frazier and hands her a dozen blue flowers.

"For you young lady."

"Young lady? Why you old charmer. Bluebonnets? How'd ya know?"

"I'd know a Texan by the pride in their step. But the smell of peach cobbler gave you away."

"Why thank you very kindly, Mr... uh??"

"Boothby. And leave the Mr. out of it. Can't abide by formality."

"Well thank you, Boothby. This is my daughter, Pu..."

"Puk Frazier. Class of 89. Graduated second in your class"

"That's right, sir... uh Boothby. How'd ya know that?"

"Tut tut. Can't give away all my secrets now, can I? Now you'd better hurry, Captain Chakotay is waiting for you down by the Bay."

"Uncle Chakotay? But how'd he know we were...?"

"No time for dilly dally now. You'd best hurry along. He'll have information about your new ship."

"Ship? My new ship? Well thank you, sir. And thanks again for the flowers. Come on, Momma!"

"Oh and Puk."

"Yes sir?"

"When you get to your ship, you treat her like a lady and she'll always bring you home."

"I will, sir. And thank you."

The two women hurry off. Boothby chuckles and returns to watering a hedge.
