Also looks like this is what Ruffalo was talking about when calling the Vision Banner's "baby".

That's why a proper a Defenders movie based on the comic would've been ideal. There were real powerhouses on their team with the likes of Namor, Silver Surfer, Valkyrie, etc and their villains were too. There were characters like Nebulon they could've fought:

This would have been perfect

Vision might be giving a Hulk a challenge for best looking Avenger!

I'm sure that Dr. Strange's Villain are powerful enough to handle Hulk. Even the ones not named Dormammu.

The only problem that I have with this tread is that everyone talks as if every battle that the Hulk has with any one will be a cake walk.

Indeed. Putting Hulk in a Strange movie puts him in a strange new place. Bruce/Hulk suddenly becomes the underdog, no longer the thing in the room that everyone tip toes around. For once, Bruce wouldn't be treated like a monster. So that's interesting thematic territory to explore for the character.

Plus, since he's now the underdog, he couldn't overshadow the lead character. In fact, they could have it so that the only reason he's able to last for more than a minute in the world of magic is because of Dr. Strange. He'd rely on Strange to survive. The only way he'd be able to punch Dormammu is because Strange gives him the ability to do so.

It could be like how I rationalize fantasy games that let you kill spirits and phantoms (ie. ghosts) with a warrior's rusty sword, or an archer's arrows. How is that possible? You can't punch a ghost in the face. They're a ghost. They don't exist on the same metaphysical plane as your weapons.

So the explanation? Everyone relies on the mage in the party to allow them to do jack. At least until they acquire an enchanted weapon, the only reason they're able to do damage to beings that are bending reality just by being visible to mortal eyes, is because their mage has enchanted them with the ability to do so.

Was just thinking....isn't it about time we get the Gray Hulk in live action?

I think they may be avoiding giving us Gray, Professor or Worldbreaker because that means he'd be able to carry on conversations and that would mean more screen time and money.

I'd expect it one day, maybe after the IW films are done.

Whedon seems pretty against Hulk talking, but maybe when the Russos take over.

Probably so. I was going to say it'd be nice to see him before then but I don't think having a weaker Hulk would do the team any favors, no madder how badass his personality is. :woot:

Yeah wouldn't be ideal during IW but would be nice to see a weaker Hulk for future team battles when the rest of the team is stronger with the likes of Ms Marvel & Vision and the opponent something less than Thanos. He'd also be good for a solo plus I'd love to see Red Hulk one day.

Red Hulk would be ideal...he'd be the perfect villain to finish off a trilogy, me thinks. I'd also love to see Madman, a villain that is criminally under-utilized.

The only time Red Hulk has ever worked was when Jeff Parker wrote him as an atoning hero during the later half of the "Hulk" series where he had his own supporting cast and rogues gallery. When used as an antagonist he was pretty damned awful, as was most everything Jeph Loeb did on Hulk besides "Gray".

That's a big reason I want him to be introduced. And since Jeph Loeb wouldn't be writing the movie, I think we'd be safe. :oldrazz:

But yeah, if he were introduced we could get to see him as a villain, which works well since T-Bolt & the Hulk have a long, long history. And then having him as a hero who joins the Avengers?

Two Hulks on the same team? C'mon, that would kick ass. :woot:

Thunderbolts spinoff probably. You know it's coming.

We don't even have a single Hulk franchise, let alone one that could support two different protagonists. And Ross of the films isn't anywhere near as complex and interesting as the version in the comics, he's way more openly villainous. And if they're going to make Thunderbolts, then they have Abomination fully formed and waiting to be utilized.

And then with him becoming Red Hulk you have the whole stuff with Red-She Hulk, and Red Leader and Abomb and all that nonsense...it's a pandora's box of bad ideas that Marvel are better off avoiding.

Yes. But the general public doesn't know that character at all, and I don't see the "brain trust" at Marvel Films going there for an Avengers movie. "Maybe" for a Hulk solo film, as a sub-plot, but the "standard" understanding with the public is that he's green, so we're kind of stuck with the default.

Ruffalo should be asked what he thinks about Joe Fixit, just for fun.

Well, yeah, I know that the Gray Hulk is a mystery to most but I was referring to seeing him in a solo Hulk film. He'd be better suited for a solo film since he's one of the weaker incarnations (physically). I can't see him being a tremendous help against villains like Ultron & Thanos.

But in a solo Hulk movie he'd be ideal, especially at this point. I can't see potential costs being a factor considering we just got a live action movie with a talking tree & raccoon.

i hope the avengers 2 storyline is substantive. Given the volatile nature of what Banner implies, I guess it's considered a potential distraction to have him as a guest hero in someone else's solo film. it would have ended up a totally different Cap. America 2: Winter Soldier with Banner involved.. But I hope at least Banner can be involved in someone else's story eventually.

If they got Ferrigno and Bana in there it would be a glorious photo op.

Two Hulks are better than one.

That is so awesome! This photo defines epic. :woot:

And yeah, having Bana and Ferrigno in would've just made it that much more glorious. :word:
