Runaways/Young Avengers

What are you looking forward to? Me? I'm hoping to see Excelsior come back. It'd be interesting to see the side they choose and Richocet's reaction to Prodigy's incarceration.

The more I think about it, the more surprised I am by how many similarities the two teams share. Both have a Skrull (Karolina's gf seems to be joining the Runaways), both have a magic user (Nico and Wiccan) and both have an android relative of Ultron (Vision and Victor). Here's hoping that this book takes full advantage of these similarities and gives us a tale that lives up to this potential.

Given that Excelsior's roster had Ricochet and two ex-New Warriors, I'm hoping they factor into it as well. I'd love to see Excelsior fully come out of retirement, hook up with the rest of the remaining New Warriors, and start sticking it to the government by breaking Prodigy out of prison and generally kicking the "hero hunters'" asses.

I'd also like to see what the rest of the Power Pack are up to.

Given that Excelsior's roster had Ricochet and two ex-New Warriors, I'm hoping they factor into it as well. I'd love to see Excelsior fully come out of retirement, hook up with the rest of the remaining New Warriors, and start sticking it to the government by breaking Prodigy out of prison and generally kicking the "hero hunters'" asses.

I'd also like to see what the rest of the Power Pack are up to.

I'd say impossible. It would impact Runaways too much, and, due to the digest format's popularity, BKV wants to keep Runaways as self-contained as possible.

It would be very interesting to see how Excelsior takes all of this in. In theory, the Registration Act represents that which they formed for: Keeping young kids out of costume. However, with 2 former New Warriors on the team and Ricochet, I can't see them supporting it.

I can see Excelsior supporting it but being pretty irked about the fact that they're using the Warriors as scapegoats. That might be enough to get them to sit the conflict out rather than being openly for or against the reg act.

As for the Runaways and Young Avengers swapping a member, I could see Victor jumping ship to the Young Avengers. The Runaways have basically treated him like crap anyway, and he might want to get to know his "brother."

I didn't read a whole lot of issues of their original comic either, but I really liked Jack from the crossovers with X-Factor and Thor.

Nico was fully prepared to kill Victor the moment he looked at anyone wrong. They've only just started to bond with him on any level deeper than cautious surface pleasantry, despite the fact that he's never intentionally given them any reason to distrust him.

Yeah, I forgot about that. It's all about finding trust. It'll take time for some of these kids. They've been screwed too many times in the past. Look at Alex.
