When I heard about Sailor Moon Crystal I geeked out massively. I used to watch the dub version as a kid and I remembered last year about Sailor moon so started watching it again and then shortly after Crystal was announced. Now I never knew how many series of Sailor moon there was. I never saw season 3 or 4 so I watched them and loved them. I can't believe I never saw them. Then I read about season 5 found out it was never dubbed so watched the subbed which i really enjoyed. You gotta love Seiya

I thenn started watching the sub from the start and I couldn't believe how much the dubbed edited out! I still haven't finished watching the sub but currently really enjoying it more than the dubbed.

Onto Crystal I see not many on here liked episode 3 but I really enjoyed it. Mars has always been my favourite. Loved her transformation and the music for it. I still really liked the first two episodes but episode 3 has been the best so far. I'm not really that fussed about the animation looks ok for me it won't spoil it . Its great to have a new Sailor Moon series. Now there is a new Digimon Adventure coming out next year announcement was made this week. Proper geeking out at that too

Yeah, I liked episode 3. I'm not bothered by Rei's lack of development, because we still have one or two episodes to put some focus on her before Mako/Jupiter shows up.

I enjoyed this episode more than episode 3. It was just the girls being the girls, sort of. That's a change from the original series, where filler was excessive. The animation also seemed better but I'm not an expert.

They pushed forward the story of the four kings and of thr usagi-mamoru romance. Cute romance mostly.

Mamoru kissing Usagi when she is sleeping and cannot give consent is unfortunate, though it awesomes up Luna when she tells him to back off.

Unfortunately, it still seems like the episode is light on story between the recap at the beginning and the thrre transformations, maybe my expectations are off.

I really liked this episode overall! It was a good callback to the original anime, while also adding its own spin to it. I also noticed that the animation was WAY better than the previous two episodes, so hopefully this will be a continuing trend for the rest of the series!

I love that Jadeite wasn't killed by Sailor Mars like he was in the manga, and I love that all four of the Shintennou will be working together. It happened in the PGSM live action drama, and I really think that worked in the show's favor. I'm glad to see it happening in the new anime, too! One of my biggest complaints about the original manga has been its handling of the "henchmen" villains; the original anime always did a better job at developing them as characters. Considering that the Shintennou are among my favorite villains in Sailor Moon, I'm really happy to see this series going in the direction its going.

Also, my QUEEN is going to make her grand entrance in two weeks. I may or may not have flailed in excitement at the end of this episode.

Yeah, I'm a little surprised to see that all four of the Shi Tennou are already revealed, and it looks like they're going to work together rather than taunt one another in succession. That should spice things up a little.

Funny how nobody's identities seem to be all that secret at this point. Luna knows who Tuxedo Mask really is, and Usagi seems to be dropping monogrammed handkerchiefs left and right.

It was an ok episode. It is weird still seeing a verson of Rei that doesn't have as much personality as the original anime Rei. I like that they have kept all 4 generals alive, hopefully that will lead to a big battle.

The tiara bit was cool and even though I know it'll happen, it annoys me that Sailor Moon always has to save the day somehow.

Can't wait for Lita/Jupiter to show up, she is my #1!

I find it sorta weird to refer to them as Kings. I always thought of them as Lords or Generals.

But then I also prefer to translate "senshi" as "soldier" rather than "guardian," so whatever.

This is actually an accurate translation. Pioneer/Geneon had it in their subtitles for Sailor Moon S and SuperS, and ADV had it in their subtitles for Sailor Moon and Sailor Moon R. And now it looks like VizMedia will be using it for the entire original series AND Crystal.

If it isn't an accurate translation, then it's definitely a universally used one. I'll say that.

I really want to like this show. The original Sailor Moon anime holds a very special place in my heart, but I just can't get over how terrible the art is. Seriously not all art styles translate well into animation. Oh also the new transformations don't hold a candle to the original hand drawn ones.

The animation style isn't even a direct transfer from the manga just the basic looks, I am not in love with the style but it is good enough for me to watch it. And surprisingly the animation seems a bit rough and rushed at times which is probably my biggest surprise given when it was announced and how much lead time they seemed to have on it.

Agreed on the cgi transformations, I accept them but wish they would hand drawn them.

I thought she was awful in the original bc she came across too much like a biyatch for no reason, but seeing this version, I prefer the original. She at least had a personality as her fiery attitude worked with what she represented. This Rei is as generic and bland as you can get
