Saints Row 2023 Roadmap

Yeah very sad, wonder how many more Embracer studios will close. Doesn’t feel like the closures and downsizing have ended yet.Saints Row Developer Volition Closes After 3 Decades - PlayStation LifeStyle
This is just sad. When Saints Row 3 was released for the ps4, I was considering trying it out before the new Saints Row was released but it didn't really appeal to me based from the videos. Then I thought maybe I would start with the reboot, then when the reboot finally came out, I completely lost interest after seeing the reviews. Fast forward to now, the studio is closed.
Hmm I feel like Embracer Group is just a mess. With how badly things went with them right now, it would take a miracle to salvage all those ips/brands they've acquired.Yeah very sad, wonder how many more Embracer studios will close. Doesn’t feel like the closures and downsizing have ended yet.
I never understood their plan. It would need a lot of gaming-relevant management experience to manage so many studios and all they did was just keep buying rather than focus much energy on what happens to the ones they already bought to date. Even if their plan was to sell them off, the individual studios would need to keep producing good games meanwhile to retain or increase their value.Hmm I feel like Embracer Group is just a mess. I feel what happening to them is another case of "what happened to this studio and whats behind their downfall".
When I read about Embracer Group acquiring so many ips/studios. I thought it was a bit odd and random, as I unaware of them. Like I imagined big companies would have done this instead (Sony, Microsoft, Tencent). So it was random and came out of nowhere.I never understood their plan. Someone bigger and also with a gaming background with experience of all this. To be fair the number of studios they acquired in such a short period of time would be hard for anyone to manage. When I read about Embracer Group acquiring so many ips/studios. And then all of this are happening right now. A big mess. They were/are clearly incapable of acquiring those ips/studios.
Mismanagement kills a lot of things, which we have seen so many times in the entertainment industry and weirdly it is still happening again and again.Someone bigger and also with a gaming background with experience of all this. They mainly went after AA (or smaller) studios that weren’t that well known with the exception of the likes of 4A, Gearbox, Crystal Dynamics, Eidos and a few others. IMO requiring even more management due to the studios’ own inexperience and having so many more disparate studios to deal with. Utterly strange proposition trying to make all that a success with little background of having done so.Mismanagement kills a lot of things, which we have seen so many times in the entertainment industry and weirdly it is still happening again and again.
I looked at their Wikipedia page to familiarize again with their background. Nothing really stood aside from their recent purchases. Technically, they were THQ, which Ive seen before in games but its nothing like the big gaming studios out there like Capcom, Sony, Microsoft, Take 2.
It looks bad PR for them. Though I think they could also be streamlining their studios. The studio behind this Saints Row Reboot and I'm assuming this game was already in a bad state before it was acquired? And it simply needed to be let go. The other one that was closed, Square EniX Montreal was mostly releasing mobile games, and I can see why it might not be important if their target market are the console/pc players. They mainly went after AA (or smaller) studios that weren’t that well known with the exception of the likes of 4A, Gearbox, Crystal Dynamics, Eidos and a few others. Yeah, I don’t think every franchise needs to live forever. There are a lot that I want to continue for good but there are some like Crackdown I could do without any more.Saints Row and Red Faction IPs Will 'Live On,' Says Deep Silver - PlayStation LifeStyle
Probably just let it rest. Even if they somehow managed to make a new great game out of it, will people buy it?
