Honestly, i have both (first on the 360, second on the PC), but still haven´t touch them :o

But the review are very good, saying it´s the best GTA clone out there.

Considering GTAIV didn't have a character creator, yeah, Saint's Row's would be better.

That video was hysterical by the way.

It is the best GTA clone but once you're done finishing off the gangs there's really no reason to go back to the game. It feels reeeeally empty when you're a gangsta with nobody to kill. Which is why I'm looking forward to this one, I need my Saints Row fix lol.

I played the first Saints Row, but that was only b/c there was no GTA on the current systems. I havent felt the need to jump back into the series.

Loved what was shown today, so I'll be tracking this. It can only get wilder from here.

Saints Row: The Third

Years after taking Stilwater for their own, the Third Street Saints have evolved from street gang to household brand name, with Saints sneakers, Saints energy drinks and Johnny Gat bobble head dolls all available at a store near you. The Saints are kings of Stilwater, but their celebrity status has not gone unnoticed. The Syndicate, a legendary criminal fraternity with pawns in play all over the globe, has turned its eye on the Saints and demands tribute. Refusing to kneel to the Syndicate, you take the fight to a new city, Steelport, playing out the most outlandish gameplay scenarios ever seen. Strap it on.

Gangs

3rd Street Saints

Needs no introduction

The Syndicate

A large criminal organization(Also the Saints biggest enemy), led by Phillipe Loren. They are split into three gangs, the Morning Star, led by Loren himself, the Luchadores, led by Killbane, and the Deckers, led by Matt Miller
Morning Star

Led by Phillipe Loren. They will have similar design to Loren, Europeans with nice clothes and love of cigarettes. This group controls weapons and prostitutes. Considered to be the smartest of the gangs in Steelport.

Color - Red

Weapons: SMGs and Sniper rifles.

Luchadores

This gang is said to be the toughest. They drive SUVs and are seen to carry heavy weapons. With a name such as "Luchadores", they are clearly close quarters fighters. They handle drug cartel and illegal gambling. Always wearing bright masks, and commonly seen in military styled clothes. Their leader is Killbane. A former luchadore, attempting to regain fame and respect.

Color - Green

Weapons: They appear to have many customized weapons.

The Deckers

This gang is made up of tech specialist who deal in security and money laundering. They appear to be treated as the meaker of the other gangs. Their gang leader is Matt Miller. Miller appears to be V's response to forum trolls. iPad aside, he is socially awkward and has not had any experience.

Color - Blue

Characters

Angel De La Muerte

Killbane's old tag-team partner in Mexico angel was publicly De-masked in the ring and went into hiding. He refuses to fight any more, but he will help the Saints in their quest to topple the Syndicate and take down Killbane. not only is he a skilled fighting tutor, he also knows Killbane better than anyone else-which will make him a valuable ally.

Cyrus

Cyrus is apart of The S.T.A.G. They Don't Care if Your in The Saints or The Syndicates They Will Kill You.

Johnny Gat

Violence advocate Johnny Gat is the second-in-command of the 3rd Street Saints, and has wracked up 387 counts of murder one (that The Man knows about) in defence of his gang.

Josh Birk

Birk is a famous actor who tags along with the The 3rd Street Saints, in order to study the gang's behavior in order for him to make his role in the upcoming movie based on the gang's adventures convincing.

Kiki DeWynter

Kiki and her sister Viola are the Second in Command of The Syndicates. They are Phillpe Loren's right head women and do most of the dirty work for the Syndicate if Phillpe Loren has not already. They are both assassin's and went to Harvard Business School.

Eddie "Killbane" Pryor

Leader Of The Luchadores, killbane is a US wrestler who went to mexico to ply his trade in the ring there. he's a steroid-abusing egomaniac whose grip on reality relies entirely on his fame he's not a fraid of being killed- he's too confident in his strength for that - but he's terrified of being forgotten. it'll be your job to take him down a peg or two.

Johnny Gat

Saints veteran Johnny Gat returns as well but he's become a little more contemplative since the loss of his wife in the second game. Of all the saints he's the one that's most dubious about the rapid commercialisation of the gang. and feels that they should go back to more traditional gang activity rather than trying to hawk energy drinks.

Matt Miller

Youngest member of the Syndicate, Matt Miller is a british hacker and the leader of the Deckers. He's obnoxious and arrogant over communication but in face to face confrontation, whether with you or other members of the syndicate, he's a cowering weed.

Oleg Kirrlov

A science experiment of the syndicate, he was a KGB superman captured by Phillipe and imprisoned for years in an attempt to weaponise him as some kind of super soldier while he's not a gentle giant he is a well-spoken intellectual tactician and would apparently rather read the new york times than kill you... but that doesn't mean he won't kill you.

Phillipe Loren

Phillipe is the Belgian leader of the morning star, the dominant gang in Steelport, and the head honcho of the syndicate in the region he's all shape suits and cigarettes, flanked by two harvard-educated vixens in the shape of Viola and Kiki DeWynter. ruthless and ambitious, Loren is utterly dispassionate about, for example, killing family members for leverage.

Pierce

The Saints lieutenant hasn't change much in disposition since the second game, but he has embraced the new media profile that his gang has achieved he's currently acting in Japanese commercials to earn extra cash, one of which you'll see in the game and attempting to launch a music career at the point when the events of this game kicks off.

Shaundi

Shaundi has become a little more focused in the interim between this and the last Saints game. In line with the expansion of the saints brand, she now has her own TV dating show and a new look that's distinctly more professional than he previous bohemian style.

The Hero/MC

While this guy looks pretty slick, it's unlikely many of you will play as him, because character customisation is back in a big way.

Viola DeWynter

Viola and her sister Kiki are Second in Command of the Syndicates. they also run The Syndicates Trafficking Hub. and are both great assassin's and will take anyone out if they have to.

Zimos

An Old- school pimp, Dimos has been edged out of the game by the new efficient techniques of the DeWynter sisters. when the saints come across zimos , who speakes in auto-tune owing to a tracheotomy, he's been imprisoned in an s&m dungeon by the syndicate and is dressed as a gimp. in order to get him out, you'll be led on a gimp-drawn rickshaw race.

Gameplay

Character Customization

The options in SR3 appear to be larger for player character creation. Spacemen and women, superheroes, soldiers with holsters, luchadores, pirates and more are all possibilities. Skin color sliders have been confirmed to have colors outside of typical skin colors. So you could make the Hulk or Joker, presumably. Now, there will be triangular sliders to tweak creations as opposed to the previous sliders.
Also, if concept art and enemy models are a sign of what's to come:

-Utility belts are confirmed

-Holsters and straps are confirmed

-Catsuits/Wetsuits for super hero costumes are confirmed

-Dual swords/katanas are confirmed

-Bandanas can be worn with sunglasses on the top of the head (meaning layers may be possible)

-More realistic looking tattoos

-Fingerless gloves confirmed (haha)

Gang Customization

You won't have a limit of suits, you'll be allowed to mix and match to pick a style or customize your own.

Weapon Customization
This has been confirmed. Triple barreled shotguns, grenade sniper assault rifles, there will be many options in customization. From the Luchadores, it appears that even enemies will have customized or "upgraded" weapons. And in at least one screenshot, an Officer appears to be holding a custom RPG.

Weapons

-An RC Gun: This allows you to take control of cars remotely.

-Air Strikes: With a laser gun, you mark an area, and anyone in that radius that is not under cover is destroyed.

-Sex-Toy Bat: While it’s by no means the most subtle weapon in your arsenal, this floppy phallus packs a mean punch when used as a melee weapon.

-Predator Drone: Another camera changing weapon, this puts you in a top-down view to drop bombs, or smart bombs.

-Satchel Charges, Assault rifles, SMGs, Shotguns, Grenades, RPGs, Sniper Rifles, Handguns, dual wielding and taking hostages all make a return.

-Attack Choppers make a return.

-Every weapon has a "nut shot" animation. Pistol whipping an enemy in the crotch.

-Tanks are confirmed for the game.

Miscellaneous Changes

-No more food. In place of it, grenades and explosives have their own radial wheel, to select from. You can throw them pressing the right bumper, without having to select a separate weapon. So, for instance, you could have a handgun out, and still throw a grenade. The regeneration time is now shorter, to make-up for the lack of food.

-Cars don't merely explode on extreme impact, they warp and distort first.

-Professor Genki's Super Ethical Reality Climax is one of many new activities. This is an in-game game show that parodies Japanese tv shows and awards punishment and physical calamity.

-Tank Mayhem is another activity, that comes with SR3. You destroy targets as you drive along in a tank. Similar to the mayhem missions of previous games.

-Guardian Angel is an activity that is similar to the seen in The Hangover, where there was the tiger in the backseat and they had to drive carefully.

-Respect now works like XP, your character can unlock skills as they progress.

-"Awesome Button". It speeds up the process of most actions. So for instance, you can dive through a car window, instead of waiting to pull a person out of a car

More Details

Oleg kirrior codenamed: patient zero, will appear as either a backup option or special homie in the main game.

Flashpoints are interactive areas in steelport, that displays the three gangs performing their favorite crimes ex: luchadores guarding a shipment of drugs.

Strongholds are back

STAG is a new form of law enforcement and will use any means such as riotsheilds, automatic weapons or even rocket lauchers to put a stop to gang warfare.

Returning/New activities are now tied into helping you prepare for or dismantle the syndicate. Also some of the more serious activities such as money laundering and drug-dealing have been turned into crime rings and will showcase the gangs coming after you to protect their desired investments.

There's a couple new places to visit Two of which that could serve as shady businesses, ran by the morning star gang: Bobby Boygers, possibly a nightclub ran by an owner with the same name. and a Wedding Chapel probably disgused as a prostituion ring.

The luchadores own a casino and funnel their drugs in and out the doors. It's likely that you will have to faceoff against one of the luchadore bosses or complete a stronghold, to take control of the establishment.
The Luchadores drive around in black SUVs with green underglow and muscle cars with flame decors.

There will be minor-gangs. So far only three are known of

1. A biker gang with a bloody skull emblem
2. A gang wearing brown
3. A tong styled asian gang with dragon art.

Same as pimps inc, these gangs will appear as NPCs, and may even be armed, or appear in the new police activity.

Your character will be able to get neck tattoos.

Both your homies and enemies can now dual-weild guns.

There's very little information on gun customization but you will be able to encrest the fleur-de-lis on your guns.

Wearing purple will once again gain you extra respect.

Gangstyles are back some of which are

Furries
Pirates
Gimps
Mascots
Prep-hop

If you attack your gang(the saints) they'll fight back

You can deck out your cribs, more like the sims this time around, instead of having three already premade styles to choose from.

The cribs will be huge, some with up to 30 saints. also saints will still hang around drinking 40s and smoking blunts.

Random skirmishes between gangs/police will make sense instead of them occuring for no reason.

- The turfs will be color coded again, representing which gang owns which neighborhood.

Saints = Purple
Morning Star = Red
Luchadores = Green
Deckers = Blue

- Pierce is bringing an army with him to steelport.

- You will be able to purchase businesses again, but also strongholds as well which can be uograded. It's unconfirmed but this could lead to gangs attacking your strongholds.

- Loren owns a playboy styled mansion except it's the opposite effect with men/women in bondage, sex dungeons and even a grotto with guns, drugs strung about and plenty of security scattered around to protect phillipe's home and his sexual deviants.

- Upgrading your strongholds will cause the saints to wield better firepower on the streets, from pistols/shotguns to SMGs/rifles.

- There will be plenty of things to spend your gangs fortune on

- The national guard is in the game, and will be involved in the story, when Bossman/shaundi steal from one of their armorys. They also will show up as a predominant force once the character obtains enough heat.

- Each of the three gangs will have a hierarchy based rank leadership of which Pierce and Shaundi have gathered information on and must take each of the captains down (same as crackdown 1's concept) if they're to eliminate the three gangs.

- along with their hierarchy, the saints also gain intel on each of the three gangs businesses and crimes.

- Taking over turfs is no longer done by completing storyline missions but instead by completing activities, taking over strongholds and wiping out flashpoints.

The gangs have their own hideouts:

Luchadores control the three count casino

Deckers control an abandoned nuclear plant

Morningstar control the brothel house manor (gimped up playboy mansion)

You'll capture four main strongholds in SR3. Each one of them can be can be transformed into skyscrapers. It's likely that three of these locations will be the gangs hideouts posted above^and will serve as placeholders, just incase you decided to blow up your first HQ.

You can't blow up every building you see in the game, but you will be able to reduce each of the three gangs hideouts to rubble.

You can pimp out hotdog trucks, which confirms they're in the game.

The cockney voice is gone

You can still hold-up shop owners.

Just the same as SR1/2 You can takeout the three gangs in whichever order you want.

midway through the game, the U.S army appears.bringing with them a ton of assault rifles and tanks.

You'll be given the laser designator for calling in airstrikes early in the game.
Looking foward to this I had a lot of fun with the first two.

-sex-toy bat: While it’s by no means the most subtle weapon in your arsenal, this floppy phallus packs a mean punch when used as a melee weapon.

CONFIRMED: Game of the Year

I saw it flopping around like not even 5 minutes into the live E3 coverage and I knew it was going to be the best game of the series hahah

I'm going to have to beat SR2 before this one comes out.

I couldnt get into the second one but hopefully this is much better. The E3 trailer was interesting enough

I made Jason Statham my main character in the second game.

I know they mentioned the ability to customize weapons...I just really hope that includes using silencers. I was bummed seeing the Ronin use a silenced pistol in a misson only to find out it was not actually in the game.

The Third looks incredible! Can't wait for it to come out.

That does look a lot better than SR2 did, it looks like a lot of fun.

Why aren't there more posts in this thread? The Third looks ****ing awesome.

Anyway, here's a trailer for the preorder items.

This has co-op through out the entire campaign right? If so, it's a buy for me.

Yes.

Also, that wrestling stuff looks awesome. :D

this game seriously looks like so much fun. I hope once you take out the wrestling gang, you can start wearing wrestling masks.
