Sequels Sam Rami for Superman!

X3 was far better than the 2 X1 and 2 were quite boring IMo and is not a movie that I would go cinema to see.

Ratner Should Do Hulk Really Combine X3 Action With Red Dragon's Psychological Undertone

unlike marvel, i think d.c. is finally figuring out that they should have a more hands off approach and more interested in matching movies with critically praised and capable directors for their two flag ship franchises.

No I'm being truthfull.

I'll be honest, despite it's glaring problems, I enjoyed The Last Stand.

But it was not even close to being as good as X2, or even X-Men for that matter. While X3 was a fun summer action movie, it had way to many problems, that kept it from being a truly great movie.

And while this was not entirely Ratner's fault, he did play a large part in it. And based on all the films he has made, I don't want him anywhere near the next Superman movie. He is not a horrible director, but his style is not right for Superman.

Wow I must be the only one that thought the last stand was the biggest piece of garbage i have ever watched. Im sorry i hate movies with no story and action for the sake of action. Ratner " hey guys lets blow this up." Other members of the film" Brett why do you wanna blow up a hospital?" Brett" because its there." now did it happen that way no, but you see what i mean.

No your not alone. Where I dont think it was all crap, I do think it destroyed a great premise that the other films established.

there was not psychological undertone to red dragon. it was a waste of two hours and only the last ten minute or so had anything resembling a film when edward norton finally woke up. this is where my hatred of ratner comes from -- his ability to squander a promising film into mediocrity.

Ratner traded in the heart of the x-men franchise for an a.d.d. catering, special effects saturated, mutant character overdosed crap fest.

I'll rip your lungs out. Keep Ratner away from my Hulk.

:hulk:

I still find X3 didn't have enough action as most posters on that board made it out to be.

Well lets put it this way, atleast for me.I thought that x1 and x2 were so so movies average, but not great,X2 was better than X1 but still it lacked action,I think or better yet Iam convinced that you can have a balance between a great story with character dev and spectacular action in one movie. I hear some directors say how the story is the most important thing and this and that but alot of the times the story doesn't live to what they said, some say the story is the most important element of a movie, well Isay that its BS,Why? because I think that both are as important, well story is a bit more important but afterall cinema is a visual medium and action counts but action that drives story,if you have great action and as a base you have a great story then they'll support each other as a whole,X3 while it had a good concept it failed to create a great story out of it. It had good action but the story was so shallow that it looked like an extended episode of the tv series, however singer's X2 didn't have that much action but it had heart and good characterization plus deeper performances than what the characters showed in X3.After seeing Ratner's take on the X-men I have learned to apreciate singer's x-men movies much more.Final veredict Ratner for supes sequel,Hell no!

Yeah and we all know which one makes FOX BO gold.

You mean waiting for your lungs to be handed to you.:D

BUt Common think about it. If singer couldnt direct Superman wouldn't Sam Rami or Brett Ratner be good? I mean Rami could be availible next year cause it looks like Spider-man 3 may be the last in the series. Brett Ratner should availble after he is done with Rush Hour 3.

I pray you're kidding because I don't think you said a single viable thing at all.

I think he probably means that these guys are the only ones who turn comicbook movies into BO successes.

Not considering X3's suckiness....

Ratner almost used the stupid JJ Abrams script for his Superman film......

:down Hes a hack.

Wow does this thread have any relevance to the forum at all?

yes -- we're bored and a few of us need a good reminding of that there are indeed stupider people and we, we happy few.
