Samurai Jack Thread

I know I'm bumping, but it's better than a duplicate thread!

I'm going to rewatch all of the old episodes*, I don't care how old I am. I use to love this show, but I was only like 7-10 years old when it came on, so there's a lot of it I didn't see, and a lot of it I don't remember, so rewatching it isn't to bad.

I'm sort of hoping that, since it's on Adult Swim, it'll be a little bit more 'mature', especially since its audience has grown up. Maybe perhaps show some blood and gore instead of robotic insides, but that's a lot to ask for.

*You can find all of the episodes on a website called KissCartoon; just search "Samurai Jack Kiss Cartoon" and it'll come up.

It doesn't need to get gory for the sake of it, but I expect a little more risque humor and situations.

I wonder when we will get a legit trailer for this??

He's grizzled and angry and tired by this point. Real time has passed.

I'm kind of in disbelief that this is actually happening.

Damn son. Jack looks pisssssed :wow:. Also, is that blood?

This takes place 50 years after the original series.

50 years....****. I can see why he's like that. All that time and Aku still hasn't been taken down.

If it's 50 years, shouldn't Jack be like 75-80 years old?

Maybe he got thrown further into the future by Aku (or time traveled himself) IDK. Should be interesting to see.

Also, rewatching the series. Currently in S2. Watching the episode where he discovers his old homeland.

Then it's 50 years after what? 50 years after Jack's own time, or 50 years after the future time he was sent to?

I'm sure Genndy will explain.

Just saying, it doesn't make any sense, unless Jack has actually aged 50 years and is in his 70s or 80s now.

50 years after the last episode. Probably time travel.

Here's something I came across:

So what is "Samurai Jack" Season 5 about? Genndy Tartakovsky shared at the panel that the new season will take place 50 years after Aku's defeat. The series will follow what happened to Jack during those years. Based on the concept art, those last 50 years have been pretty harsh on the time-travelling samurai.

Oh, so he did beat Aku.

I'm very curious to see how they are handling it. I mean time travel or not, it doesn't look like Jack's aged that much. Is it just that his exposure to Aku's magic makes him age slower?
