Plot Summary:
Holiday magic mixes with comical chaos at the North Pole in "Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause". Tim Allen reprises his role of Scott Calvin - AKA Santa - as he juggles a full house of family and the mischievous Jack Frost (Martin Short), who is trying to take over the "big guy's" holiday.
At the risk of giving away the secret location of the North Pole, Scott invites his in-laws (Ann-Margret & Alan Arkin) to share in the holiday festivities, and upcoming birth of baby Claus with expectant wife, Carol, - AKA Mrs. Claus (Elizabeth Mitchell).
Along for the adventure are Scott's extended family, son Charlie (Eric Lloyd), ex-wife Laura Miller (Wendy Crewson), her husband, Neil Miller (Judge Reinhold) and their daughter, Lucy (Liliana Mumy) who, together with head elf Curtis (Spencer Breslin), foil Jack Frost's crafty scheme to control the North Pole.

Trailer (quicktime)
I saw the first 'Santa Clause' film when I was 6 years old. And ever since it has been a favorite of mine. Now I'm 18 and hyped to see SC3, having grown up with the first film.
The first sequel, was good but not great- it just seemed like a spin-off type film. What I mean by that is that it didn't exactly follow up the first film.
But, with the direction of the third film. I really can't wait. The alternate reality of what could have happened if Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) never became Santa Claus. Being a fan of the first film, that's really going to be an interesting thing to see. Kind of 'Back to the Future' 2ish- in a way. And also has a certain Capra ring to it.
And Martin Short and Tim Allen on film together again?! That's really going to be great. Another favorite Tim Allen film of mine is Jungle2Jungle (interesting note- the kid in that film actually grew up to be Jimmy Olsen in Superman Returns! (Sam Huntington)).
So, a great comedic team up. Interesting and unique premise. And a film that promises to be, what in my mind, the sequel should have been. Definitely excited.
