Saw VI discussion thread

Is anyoned having trouble viewing the flv of the trailer on their PC ? It only works online

use VLC Player, it plays all kinds of format including flv

i'm a big fan of the first 3 SAW movies. 4 was alright..5 was bleh..

6 on the other hand..is looking good from this clip they released. this wheel thing is a pretty sick idea. maybe SAW is back? of course the trailer was a bit of a tease..didnt really show anything :P lame.

The teaser is alright. I wish it revealed more, but oh well....the movie is only a couple months away.

So SAW VII has been confirmed and we have a director...

I was really hoping this would be the last and tie everything together, but alas...

yea, i wish they didnt make a 7th

David Hackl Set to Direct Saw VII
Source: Variety
July 24, 2009

Lionsgate has greenlit Saw VII with a January start of production, reports Variety. David Hackl -- production designer of the second, third and fourth films and helmer of Saw V -- has been hired to direct.

Mark Burg and Oren Koules, who have produced all six of the "Saw" pics, are back as producers. And screenwriters Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton, who wrote the fourth, fifth and sixth films, are writing the seventh.

I guess VII and VIII have both been confirmed and Tobin Bell said that eight would probably be the last one.

Ah the Saw team and their false advertising strikes again. "The story will come full circle." No it won't, you plan on milking this film for at least two more films after this one, so please don't insult my intelligence. Just like the tagline for Saw V (you won't believe how it ends) was false advertising.

As for the trailer, the latter part I must admit is delightfully sinister, but something tells me they just put the sole good thing about the movie into the teaser.

I don't know why everybody was surprised that SAW VI existed. It has been known since SAW II that they were going to make 6 films. Actually after the first one, Tobin Bell signed on for a total of 5 more....so I don't know why everybody is saying, "Another one?!"

But man, SAW VII and VIII?!

SAW VI better be one of the greatest movies if they are choosing to release two more. I just don't know what they can do to further the story.

I will consider VI my end with SAW unless it is a great movie that explains a whole of a hell lot. And Dr. Gordon better be in it. That's the only way I can see them making another two films.

Just let it die already. Seriously, this is getting ridiculous now. They could've stopped at three for a while and continued the series later on. Even if six turns out to be great I'm not sure I'll see the other ones.

Now this is to the point to where they're dragging the stories just to drag them and ruining continuity. As Cryptic said, Dr. Gordon better be in this one or at least mentioned at some point.

This story probably will, the first three films tell one story, IV-VI tell what happens after Jigsaw's death, VII-VIX will follow a different story...most likely something hunting Jigsaw followers, which I find quite interesting and it's completely different from what we've seen so far, so I'm up for it.

Bring on VI and VII! We still don't know what is really up with Gordon and Jill,a side from not knowing what will happen to Jigsaw's real apprentince. At this point,I am going to stop after VII.

So it's safe to say that Hoffman isn't dying in this one then.

It's going to be very interesting to see where the story goes with the sequels. If seven and eight are planned then Gordon has to be involved in some fashion.

My friend at work came up with a theory in which he believes Agent Strahm is alive. He stated that he believes the walls stop just before they completely crush him.

While it's a pretty far fetched theory in itself, however, it would be interesting to see if they went that direction with Strahm possibly being alive.

Nah, dude, Strahm is dead. He was a cool character, but he's gone.

no, those walls closed all the way, he got crushed indefinetly.

i hope hoffman dies ONLY because he shouldn't be the only villain in these movies. we've seen him since part 3 and only have known him as a bad guy since part 4, thats more movies than both amanda and jigsaw got together (alive i mean). but if they were to kill him off, i'd only want to see somebody, such as a twisted dr gordon, take his place. besides gordon and hoffman, i'm growing tired of the whole apprentice idea, and i'm really excited for part 6. it'd be too damn cool if hoffman ended up in the jaw splitter trap and finally get to see what it does as the last scene in 6 or whatever his last film will be. there needs to be some kind of fresh new idea or take on these films that will reinvigorate it for 2 more movies. i simply can't see 7 and 8 being along the lines of hoffman doing all of jigsaws leftover work...has to be something else to it

The fact they kill any character you get attached too makes this series full of fail.

You need a character to root for...and it sure as hell aint Jigsaw or Hoffman. Watching Jason kill *****y teens = cool. Watching some guy punish people for being depresssed, = ****ing sick.

I don't know, that's why I like this series. Anyone can get off'd.

Yeah, and they don't treat violence and violent people as though they're "cool."

Hoffman is an alright character, but I'd like to see him die in VI. But, I don't think he will. He is a hated character and for that reason, he'll live.

Hmm, I'm sitting here watching Saw II on Syfy and I was wondering if any discussion has been brought up about Daniel Matthews? Could he be a potential apprentice or something? I wouldn't think the writers would just forget about him, but, who knows.
