Saw VI discussion thread

Saw is a suspense movie to me. Cause I be on the edge of my seat and wanna know whats gonna happen next.

First Look: Torture Begins in Hi-Res 'Saw VI' Still!

Arriving in theaters October 23 is Lionsgate's latest Jigsaw game, Saw VI, this time directed by long time editor Kevin Greutert. Beyond the break you'll find the first ever hi-res still from the pic that begins when Special Agent Strahm is dead, and Detective Hoffman has emerged as the unchallenged successor to Jigsaw's legacy. However, when the FBI draws closer to Hoffman, he is forced to set a game into motion, and Jigsaw's grand scheme is finally understood.

Its bound to happen, why not start talking?

Here's how I see it:

What are your ideas, hopes, and fears about the supposedly final installment?

I think the only way to end this franchise is to kidnap the writers, directors, producers, and any studio executives responsible for greenlighting this crap and put them through Jigsawesque deathtraps. Kill them all and maybe this nightmare will end.

Maybe they find something else out in this film.

I heard some stupid people saying it looks like the Fart Gag thing from Jackass and I just go :whatever: to that sentence.

Or maybe if you don't like the films you won't find your way into a thread talking about them? Just a thought. :whatever:

God....this is really getting out of hand. Why are there so many sequels in this franchise? I figured they would stop at Saw 3, but I'm surprised it's gotten this far.

The trap itself looks like they will possibly be crushed from the sides. I don't know though. Should be interesting to say the least.

Or you could just not watch them.

I don't see why people feel the need to complain about something they really don't have to watch.

i don't watch the harry potter films, but i'm not going into the threads asking why are they making these movies yet or for any franchise really.

In a Audio interview I heard with Darren Lynn Bousman Director of Saw 2,3 and 4. He said as long as people keep paying to see these movies, they will continue to keep making them. And he's correct.

That's true. That's why those stupid ass spoof movies are still getting made. Anyways, I loved the first two Saw movies. After that, I just gave up on it. I can't really complain though about all these sequels. They're better than all this PG-13 garbage that comes out nowadays.

Indeed, especially when the answer is exactly the same for just about all of them...unless there's a franchise out there that consistently flops, has almost no fanbase, and yet continues to pump out sequels...but I'm not aware of any.

The reason is simple as to why they keep getting made. Cause they keep making money at the Box Office and are made for a low amount of money and make its budget back usually opening weekend.

All I really care about is if how or when they're going to bring back Gordon. I realize Darren wanted to leave his fate unanswered, thus leaving it to our imagination.

However, I feel in this case it's one of those questions that needs to be answered. Hell I think it'd get a massive response not only from fans but from the general audience as well. Of course, that would require for them to watch all five films in succession too.

As I said, the trap in the new still looks very interesting and unique. I'm getting the vibe that crushes them from the sides given how they're positioned and the schematics of it.

I liked the first two. Now they're just beating a dead horse. Has nobody learned from Friday The 13th VII? Must they continue making the same mistakes over and over again?

The difference is these films are actually halfway decent and keep people interested. Another difference is those sequels of Friday the 13th weren't meant to be taken seriously.

I'm sure they were then, however, when you look at them now you see just how cheesy and intentionally bad they are.

Saw, on the other hand, is a more realistic approach to the horror world and the characters in my opinion are more interesting and complex.

Each SAW film is quite different structurally, they aren't the retreads that series' like F13 became, they've beat a dead horse...beating a dead horse is more along the lines of what the whiny 'omg when are they going to stop making these pieces of ****! they suck so bad!" crowd does so well.

Thus far, III and V are my favorite SAW films, and I expect VI to be one of the top two best.

Yeah, I agree.

SAW, in my opinion, is a great series/franchise. Its better than half the horror movies that get released today. Great characters. Great all around story.

What same mistakes has SAW been making ?

you know what would be the best torture device in this next Saw film?

Making people sit through Saw 1 - 5 again, amirite guyz? :D

kidding :o

Ill watch this just to see what happens. But after Saw VI I kinda lost a little interest. I mean it was ok but its the only one I havent actually bought on its release date. IV was the last one that I really dug. IV was masterful just how everything came together and at the end you found out the narative is running concurrently with III. That was brilliant writing at least in my eyes. But VI left something really to be desired for me

You mean SAW V , lol . SAW VI hasn't come out yet.

I liked Saw V but I did feel that the series could wrap itself up. They are really going to have to do some digging because they plan on making a seventh Saw. I always wanted to see someone outsmart the killer and that would be a good way of ending it. They did a great job carrying characters over into the next film but I think they've run dry with that option .

I'll watch it because I've watched every movie so far, and I own the collection outside of part V. I LOVED Saw I, hated Saw II, but II and IV were pretty good IMO. Part V was a real disappointment, and I expected more. I do hope they end the franchise since I think Jigsaw means alot to it, and I can't see how far they can go with him being dead before going back to prequel land. Still I'm hoping part VI will be good. I will probably buy it after it comes out on DVD like I usually do. In a perfect world they would've ended after the first one since it's a horror classic IMO, but the sequels haven't been so bad like some horror franchises. There's places to take Jigsaw's quest, and they've done a decent job with it. I just hope they don't get into Friday the 13th land. I've loved the F13 series since I was 3. I still watch those from time to time as a guilty pleasure, but there's only so many times you could see a guy kills teens in the same woods before getting tired of it.
