If scarecrow does survive, he might be a great emergency backup villain in part 3.

Killing off famous villians is what I hate about most comic book movies.:csad:
So I hope Scarecrow will not die.
Not to kill a villian does not mean he HAS to come back in the next movie and you HAVE to pay the same actor again.
I mean, did Catwoman appear in "Batman Forever"?
I'd have no problem if guys like Maroni, Falcone or Gamble would die.
But they should never kill off Batman's most famous enemies like Scarecrow, Two-Face or especially the Joker.
It's not "Die Hard", where the bad guys must die. It's a Batman movie.
And something special about Batman is, that they always put the most dangerous guys into an asylum from which they can escape without any problems.

I don't think Scarecrow will die. I haven't heard or seen anything to suggest that he will. After he is caught by Batman that will be the last we see of him, and it will just be assumed that he is arrested and held in prison or Arkham. I highly doubt he will be in the third film though.

ugh, i hope not. enough with him, the only villain in the batman world good enough to be in a movie 3 times back to back is the joker

I find it necessary for them to kill the main villain only if it will promote or allow the story to grow. In the Spider-Man films I found it ok for them to kill each villain because it made an emotional connection with the characters and the heroes progression. If the Joker were to die in this film I would be ok with it, not because he wouldn't be in the third film but it would make more since. I mean if you look at the first one at the end, Arkaham has been destroyed and most of its inmates have escaped, prison will not be a suitable place for the Joker. Nolan is trying to make these films relatively close to the real world not completely realistic but as close as possible. I mean from the trailers it seems pretty obvious what the Joker's fate will be. And Scarecrow won't die he'll most likely be arrested.

thats fair enough..

but you could take the breaking your one rule speech as trying to egg batman on to do something... whether or not he DOES isnt clear..

And as for him seeing what he has to become.. maybe he doesnt like that idea and considers packing it all in. Parts of both the trailers seem to indicate bruce having 2nd thoughts about batman, especially with alfred telling him to make the 'right choice' and that 'Gotham needs him'..

I suppose Alfred is suggesting him to not kill him. Since all the rest of Gotham including Harvey Dent want the Joker dead....

So there are rumors going around that Scarecrow dies....

I sure hope not. Because if Nolan is truly using YEAR ONE and LONG HALLOWEEN as inspiration, shouldnt he be trying to show a Gotham City that is slowly evolving from it being controlled by gangsters and mobsters to being controlled by freaks???? That's what the Long Halloween showed.

With Heath Ledger's death, unfortunately, the Joker won't be a part of the "freakshow" in part 3.... but I REALLY hope Nolan is planning on showing how Gotham turns from the mob to the freaks.... so Two-Face, Scarecrow, and what villains are introduced in part 3 would lead the way.

wow, lol. I posted a thread about a week ago about how Scarecrow appears for a split-second (in the white van) in the new TDK trailer and all I got was responses like:

"close this now"

"close"

and sarcasm :csad:

But its nice to see it finally being discussed in this thread :woot:

I do think Scarecrow will die in this film. If Joker isn't going to be in the third, I think it'd be cool if he gets put in Arkham but has Harley Quinn to continue his work.

lol that's because this thread already existed and you couldve discussed it here :oldrazz:

There would be no point to Scarecrow's death because it wouldn't do anything for Batman's character development. It would just be a random death. If there's going to be a villain death, it will more than likely be Joker to bite it, because that would provide so much more thematic development. Joker may die, but things will get worse with the introduction of Two-Face and etc.

I believe that scarecrow will be at the beginning of the film, doing some sort of illegal activity, Batman busts in, and rounds up him and his men (seeing as that's what he said he'd do at the end of BB along with tracking down Joker)

personally i think scarecrow will be arrested if anything....i don't believe they'd kill him

I doubt they will kill him. I would think he will just be arrested and locked away in Arkham. (Allowing the potential to escape.)

I would like the 3rd movie to have Riddler or Catwoman. Maybe Penguin, if he's done right.

That's amazing! I want that figure!

I don't think it is a satisfactory excuse.

Surely they can write the story to end it with their life intact. Hell, they manage to do it for Batman every film.

Because..you can't have a sequel if Batman dies.

I don't think Nolan would kill off Scarecrow, I think he'll just be put in Arkham.

I mean from the trailers it seems pretty obvious what the Joker's fate will be.

Joker TRIES to have Batman kill him and ALMOST succeeds but Mr. J gets arrested in the end.

hopefully they wont kill scarecrow but on another note i hope they never put Harley Quinn in the movies or refer to the Joker as "Mister J"- not to offend any batfans= i just dont think it fits

I wish there was a Scarecrow doll where you can take off his mask and it'll be Dr. Crane underneath (sorry, but I adore Dr. Crane......)

I was told by someone who claimed that his aunt was involved in the filming that Joker hangs scarecrow. Now who knows how true that is, but i would think that would be pretty awesome.

I really hope Scarecrow does not die, and I would love to see Two Face or some other criminal break Scarecrow out of Arkham in order to create more chaos in the city in the next movie...:word:

That's been done in Begins. I would like to see some sort of jailbreak if we're going to see anything like that. I know it isn't Nolan's take, but I would like to see a comic book-esque theme start in future Batman franchises where the villain escapes from jail and terrorizes Gotham, not simply these first appearance/ origin stories we always seem to get. For example, how cool would it be if the Riddler escaped from jail in the third movie and fought alongside scarecrow or something. No need to waste 35 mins. explaining how Riddler came to be. For those familiar with him, it'll be a treat, for the small population of Americans who aren't steeped in at least some Batman lore, it'll be some villain who escaped from jail. Start there. we don't need to see Ed Nigma ramble on for 35 mins. before he starts menacing Gotham. Does anyone know what I mean?
