I mean he had like a voice changer in his mask. Some people have been saying he had a voice changer in his mask and that is why he sounds different.

the voicechanger people are referring to is actually just a little oxygen mask, kind of like the one batman wears when diving, its a tiny little piece attached inside the mask so crane wont inhale his own sh-t. You can see him turn on the oxygen when he gasses falcone, you can see it inside the mask when gordon is fiddling with his mask.

I don't think it's a voice changer at all...I'm pretty damn confident that it's how his victims hear him when they've been gassed.

Huh? I always thought that he had a voice distorter inside his mask in order to make his Scarecrow effect even more intimidating. I mean it looked like he switched it on just before he gassed Falcone.

Besides, his Scarecrow voice sounded the same no matter who was gassed. If his voice would've been just a hallucination, in that case it would've changed depending on who was under fear gas.

wtf...now I have to go and watch that scene so we can clear this one out...which is nice cuz I love that scene. :yay:

i always wondered if it was some kind of gas mask or oxygen tank...i mean did he have an antidote for his own toxin?....lol wait no he didnt because he gets sprayed...so i think its something to keep him from getting a "taste of his own medicine" thats why batman pulls off the mask

It may be both, or just the effect from Scarecrow speaking in to an oxygen mask. The hood despite being scary as hell to those under the effect of the toxins, it also acts as a gas masks to keep Crane from getting,as laudanum09 put it, gassed by his own *****.

I thought Scarecrow's voice altered due to the fear gas.

All you have to do is visit the part where Rachel pwns Scarecrow, while he's on the horse. There's a shot of Scarecrow from Rachel's fear-gassed perspective, but then we cut to a normal shot of Scarecrow after Rachel fires the buzz-clip at him, and his voice sounds completely unaltered.

Umm...I believe he was screaming at that point! Not exactly talking. :cwink:

The scream was muffled, slightly. I think it just serves as a gas mask.

It sounds like he's talking; something along the lines of "We're here to help, argh, etc."

Anyhow, it sounds incredibly identical to Cillian Murphy's voice. Also, you have to check back to the part where Bruce breathes in the fumes from the cooked blue flowers, before his test with Rah's. Rah's' voice becomes all eerie and devilish in that scene, and Bruce only breathed in a small dose.

Actually, there are many scenes in the final battle where people's voices have changed due to the fear gas. Even Flass' voice becomes incredibly low-pitched, as far as I can remember.

nope he says "we're here to help" and then gets tazered. When he says "were here to help" its not distorted.

I don't remember that. I remember him riding in on his horse, Rachel saying "Crane?" To which, he responds "No, Scarecrow!" He says a line after that in the same voice he always does as Scarecrow, then gets tasered and screams in a normal voice.

Hmm...I really don't remember his voice changing except for the tone he screams in. You guys have got me wondering, I'll have to go back and watch that again.

he says something after that i dont know it its "were here to help" because i never heard it clearly....but it is something that gets cut off by the tasers...and it is in his normal voice

All I every heard is the fear its self line after the "No Scarecrow!" line....does anyone know where I can watch the clip again to check? Can't find on the youtube.

I have seen it mentioned about tasers and scarring for why he wears the mask, speaking from the experience of having been shot by one they do not leave a scar, too little pinpricks, that heal up in a day or two, the more powerful ones will leave a slight burn but it heals up also, nothing that would be significant enough to merrit the mask for longer.

Then again it wasnt as realistic, because the way a real taser works his body would have ceased up and there would have been no way for him to stay on the horse. He would have fallen off and it would have been more plausible that he got drug away by his foot hung up in the stirups.

He says "no...Scarecrow" "there you are!" "there is nothing to fear but fear itself!" "I'm in here to help- AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"

yup im here to help. and when he says that its normal crane voice. the voice is because of the way people hear others on the hallucinogen, thats all.

one thing I love to recap is hearing his scream as he rides off into the distance just pure gold

didn't the script say something about "Crane pulls out a breathing aparatus attached to a burlap sack" indicating it was intended as a gas mask not a voice changer. Come to think of it that i would love them to release scarecrow masks with voice changers built in. That'd be cool.
