Scariest/Creepiest things you've ever seen/experienced?

I was at a party last night and this guy was passed out and not waking up and foaming at the mouth and ****. It was a little creepy that this guy could pretty much die at any moment. I wasn't that creeped out though, he's a *****e bag for drinking that much. He ended up waking up a few hours later.

That happens all times... you need to go to more parties

Creepy experience I had:

Had a dream my good friend's sister got pregnant. Thought it'd be funny to joke around and tell my friends that know her that she actually is pregnant, watch them freak, then crack up and tell them I was joking.

It came true.

I got caught by my parents with my weiner in a light socket once.

Not really.

Wouldn't your brother's sister be your sister?

Good point. He's actually my best friend.

I'm tired, sorry. Edited.

This happened to me seven years ago. I remember sitting at my college's library computer doing some work and I had a vision of me having a slow dance with a girl sitting next to me. First off, I cant really say that I knew this girl, we only had a class together. She was wearing a red dress in my "vision" (I cant believe I'm actually using that word, but I cant think of another way to put it) and we were slow dancing in a big ballroom. I shrugged it off.

About a year later, she and I had another class together and she ended up asking me out on a date. I said sure. You guessed it. We ended up going to a hotel and slow danced. She wore a glittering red dress. The rest of the night was a disaster. I was uncomfortable with the whole situation and ended up bailing on her. I felt guilty about it for months.

That was my final year at that school, and I transferred to Illinois State, about 500 miles from my first school. This is where it gets really weird. I showed up for my first class at my first day at ISU and a girl that look 99% identical to the girl I went out with showed up. (She was taller and had blonde hair, that was the only difference.) Her said her name was Pauline. The girl I "dated" was named Paulette. To finish it off, Paulette had mentioned to me right before I left for ISU that she knew someone there.

What the hell are the odds?! I swear to God that I felt like the universe was playing a practical joke on me. It could only have been something supernatural for this to happen.

I have four stories. Two are supernatural, the other two are just plain ****ed up.

When my grandma was young, she lived in this old house that was near these train tracks. When her family would sit down for dinner, they would hear footsteps on the second floor. They'd pace for about a few minutes then start coming down the steps. The staircase had a door separating the second and first floor. It always creeped them out, but the "ghost" would never extend beyond the second floor. Well, one night, they heard the steps and it came all the way down the stairs and started pounding on the door. My great grandfather took a knife from the kitchen and opened the door. There was nobody there and they never heard the sounds again. They asked around the neighborhood if anything happened in the house. A neighbor said during the house's construction, one of the workers fell down the steps and died from head injuries. They figure that is the ghost.

Sometimes when I sit at my computer desk, my chair starts to rotate. I am not pushing it or leaning in such a way that it would turn by itself. It freaks me out.

This one is really creepy, but it scares the **** out of me. My sister and our friend were at a graduation party. It was at this camp ground/cabin that the host owned. The cabin was pretty ****ty and had all these spiderwebs. We were in there talking when the graduate's cousin, who was a stoner, told us that there was a huge spider behind us. I have a huge fear of spiders. I almost seize when I see them. So expecting to see a spider the size of a marble, I turn around. No... it wasn't the size of a marble...it was bigger than the palm of my hand. My sister, friend, and I screamed and ran the **** out of there. They couldn't find the spider so it still roams around in the cabin. It was the biggest spider I have ever seen.

The next story is creepy. I was, again, with my sister and our friends. They asked us if we wanted to go to this hangout place called "The Loop". We agreed. There was five of us and only three had never been there. We all piled into a car, excited of what this hangout place was. They took us out into the middle of nowhere. There was a few houses but there was a lot of room between each house. Our friend drove into this secluded trailer park. There was broken down cars and garbage everywhere. I immediately got scared because it was like something out of The Hills Have Eyes or Jeepers Creepers. We thought the place was abandoned because the trailers were filthy and run down. One of them even had part of the roof missing with nothing but a blanket over the hole. We were wrong. People came out of the trailers and looked at us. These two huge dogs started chasing the car. It was scary as hell. We could all tell that they did not want us there. My friends who had already been there laughed hysterically. I flipped out on them for taking us there. None of us went back since.

I was sitting at a school assembly and the cheerleaders came out and started dancing. in the corner of my eye i saw someone at the top of the rafters licking his lips! I tried to find out if this was a teacher and i t wasn't even a teacher's aid. It was just some random guy who walked into the school!

Sounds about right. :o :csad:

I also had on odd moment last summer. Not scary or creepy, just odd. Arriving at work one day, I started to get out of the car and I looked down at the ground to see the pen that I had in my shirt pocked. I have no idea how it got out of the car before I did without my noticing. I like to think it was my mom saying that she was still "around," even though she died a few months earlier.

Haha.
This was such a good thread.
I remember my times in here. When the Hype has another purge in the near future, this thread is one that needs to be saved.

When my daughter was about 6 or 7 months old we used to let her sleep in her playpen next to our bed. Most playpens have mesh sides like this:

playpen.jpg

So one night I was having a bad dream so I woke up pretty suddenly and my mouth was dry. I reach over to my nightstand for my water bottle and I see this little face just staring at me. She was leaning on the mesh with her faced pressed really hard against it...so she looked all distorted. I was not fully awake so it scared the HELL out of me. Then she laughed at me.

moral of the story: babies are ****ing scary.

^Thinking about that sounds scary as hell.

Been nearly a year since I made it. Wasn't exactly a huge hit, but it's had some pretty nice discussions in its time.

When I was 7, my family went on a camping trip with our neighbors to a camp ground called Lake Anna. We (the kids) were playing in the water while the parents were grilling along the shore. I, for no particular reason, looked out across the water to see our nieghbors youngest kid (about 4 or 5) out in the water, struggling to keep from drowning. I will never forget the look on his face, pure terror mixed with a very strong sense of determination. I, being the closest to him (still around 20-30 feet away) swam to get him. I wasnt a very good swimmer to begin with, but have this poor kid clinging onto me and spasming all over made it very hard for myself to stay afloat. I remember screaming for help and just as our heads went under (for the final time?) a random guy in a passing boat jumped into the water and snatched us up.

When I was around 11, I had a guy stick a gun in my face for trying to protect a friend he was harrassing. When my dad stormed into his house later (with his own gun in hoslter - its good to have a dad who works for the FBI), we found out the gun was indeed loaded.

When I was in college, our dorms were in a apartment complex that used to be a bank/office building. There was apparently two incidents where alot of people were killed:

1) As a bank, there was a major robbery where many people were taken hostage and executed in the basement.

2)Shortly after it was convereted into a dormitory, there was a fire and a bunch of people were caught in a stairwell and burned to death. That stairwell has since been blocked off, the entrances covered by drywall, etc. The way the building is set up, its like a hollowed out cube; the hallways wrap around this cube, lined with windows looking out into the center, so you can see into the hallways on the other side of the building. Now, this condemned stair way is on one side of the building, jutting out from the side almost like a tower of a castle and you can see the windows of the stairwell.

I describe this because it deals with one of the many hauntings we have encountered.

Some friends of mine were video majors and were shotting some footage in the hallways. For one particular shot, the stairwell could be seen in the back ground. When they took the footage in to edit, they noticed something: sillouettes of two people in stairwell window; just standing there, almost as if they were watching themselves be filmed.

To make along story slightly shorter, alot of messed up **** happened to these kids afterwards (the video was suddenly missing, objects being flung across the room, etc), and after some um...investigation, it was learned that there were close two 20 people who had died in the fire, two of whom were very pissed about being video taped. These two, as was learned, were feared by the other "ghosts" and could be considered "evil". It was greatly suggested that my friends apologize before the two ghosts caused any worse damage. My friends did, and as far as I know, nothing had ever happened since.

Another story of this building takes place in the very dorm room I lived in. The dorms are practically apartments. Kitchen, living room, multiple bedrooms. I was lucky enough to have the single room. Well, that luck was short lived. We all were once hanging out in the living room when I looked up to see someone walk into my room. Since everyone was in the living room, I was very curious to find out who it was, and decided to check. When I walked into my room, it was empty. This happened several times, not just to me, but others saw the same figure walk into my room as well. Once, as I was lieing in bed trying to sleep, my guitar strummed itself. Being a musician, I know what chord it is when I hear it, and I can tell you that fingers had to be on that fretboard in order for those notes to be played (a very poorly fingered F#m7). Me and another roommate had also heard tapping on our keyboards in the middle of the night, and even (on the same night) heard someone whisper "What is this" in our ears. As far as this ghost is concerned, we never had any ill feelings, no threatful vibe. We eventualy desided, to the the seemingly white collared shirt and near clockwork-esque appearance of him walking into my room, figured this ghost was killed in the bank robbery, and was merel trying to continue his work schedule, with his office, we suppose being where my room is now.

Whew, sorry for the long post.

I have a recurring nightmare; I have a variation of it about once or twice a year.

There's this movie. It's not a real movie. But I'm watching it in my dream, and all I know is I DON'T WANT TO BE. It's old and black and white (I think). Sort of reminiscent of Nosferatu. I believe it takes place partially (from what I remember) in a cave.

Anyways, I'm watching the movie and I don't know why, because I'm absolutely terrified of it (in a bad way). And I'm waiting for the part that scares me the most; I guess it's when I (the viewer) finally sees 'the star' - whatever monster or hideous man it is. The thing is, I couldn't tell you what he looks like, or if I ever even see him. I don't think anything scary actually happens. It's just that feeling, that sinking feeling of inescapable dread. I wake up in a sweat every time.

I know entirely where the dream stems from. In waking life, I'm a huge horror movie fanatic. They're the funnest thing in the world for me, but they're just fun. None of them scare me. So I'm always on the search for a movie that will actually scare me, shake me to the core to the point where I'll never be the same again.

I think this dream is my subconscious' way of telling myself "Be careful what you wish for.."

Oh, another thing that happened:

A couple weeks ago, I was planning on going on a trip over the weekend to pick up a new car someone was giving me. I was going to take the train on saturday morning and then drive the 4 hours back on sunday. It was kind of last minute, so things were alittle stressful, but overall, nothing negative.

Well, when my fiance and I went to bed, I suddenly felt this wave of dread. I for the longest time (or at least if felt like it) I couldnt place it. But I knew that I shouldnt go. I cant tell you how terrible this feeling was. My mind was realing, my heart felt like a hundred worms were crawling in it. And then my mind began to take hold of the horror. I remember thinking (very calmly dispite it all) that I need to make a will and testament before taking this trip, to decide what I was going to leave my fiance, my friends and family. Thats when I suddenlt had a very clear, albeit quick image flash in my mind. Me, in the car, looking down at the directions, and looking back up at the road just as a car careens into me. Upon seeing that, I suddenlt became very calm, serene, even. I looked over at my fiance, who I thought was asleep, to see her staring at me, with tears in her eyes saying, "You're not going to go, are you? I dont want you to die."

Craziest ****ing thing in my life.

We talked about if for the rest of the night. She had a very similar vision, but from her side of the event. Walking into my room and collecting her things, our things, crying, finding out that the accident happened near Valley Forge (amazingly, based on what directions I was looking at in the image, yes, I was near there).

She has been known to have visions in the past. Her family used to bring her to horse races when she was little because she always picked the right horse. She has known when a family member has/is going to die on many occasions, and even that a friends house would burn to the ground (all things she couldnt stop if she wanted to) and this has caused her great grief, to the point where when ever any idea pops in her head, she fears that it might come true. We have talked about it many times in the past, and she had constantly wondered why god gave her this "gift" if it was just going to torment her for her entire life. My response was that it was for something important, where she could make a difference. Well, she had I firmly believe it was for this reason. If I hadnt of known about her experience, I dont think I would have truely considered not going on the trip, and for BOTH of us to have the same event play in our mind at the same time, theres no other explanation.

On a side note, I talked to my father a few days later and he told me that on the same night, he felt that a terrible thing was about to happen to the family. So, he got on his knees and prayed for God to protect his loved ones. And yes, when he prayed was just before my fiance and I had our shared vision.

Not to turn this into a religous thing, but how can one argue God out of THAT?

Isn't that big ass shark just a character in movie, or is it like myth, or something? Is that photo supposed to be real?
Its a Megalodon, an extinct shark. Think of a great white, but over 60 feet long. It could swallow 12 men whole.

There's a pretty good science fiction book called "Meg" that has to do with the shark, as well as countless crappy scifi movies.

Emphasis on crappy.

However, for me, one of my creepiest/scariest moments was when I was awake late at my home, and I heard some movement, scratching, whatever outside. Well, of course, my first reaction is, "I'm getting f'ing robbed." So I arm myself with a .38 special, and walk outside, point the gun, and tell the person to come out so I can see (as the person was standing in one of the five places along the side of my house that doesn't have a direct light source over it) and report him to the police, which I had already contacted on the way down. The person like...screamed or something, the sound was hard to recognize, though it could've been the wind was blowing and I didn't hear it all that well (maybe he was yelling something), and started to run (which gave me a look at whoever's back I was looking at, and of COURSE it's some red hoodie or something, rather than something recognizable I could give the cops). And that guy was FAST, and I chased him/her/whatever, thinking this person is making off with something of mine. So I threaten and yell and stuff, and he/she/heshe? turns around and THROWS something at me and I fire in response (as I believe if you threaten me physically, I will kill you to preserve my safety), and I KNOW I hit it. I watch the the guy stumble forward as I'm almost sure I hit him near dead center of his back, and he just kept going. I thought about firing again, but... he/she/magma monster? seemed to shrug off the first bullet, and judging that it was probably some meth head, I didn't need their death on my hands or something.

I just thought it was really weird, as a hollowpointed bullet didn't kill someone. I mean, I ran to the front, and watched whoever it was keep taking off down the street. And of course, fifteen minutes later, the cops show up, and asks why I have a gun. Brilliant job, maybe it was the suspect at my house?

Either way, it was weird.

damn, a hollowpoint just made him pitch forward some? funny thing, druggies are the exact reason my father loads his pistol with hollowpoints; so they WILL feel it.

I'm interested to know how the cops handled you firing at this guy.

They found the bladed weapon, which was like a broken knife with a handle in the grass that was covered in old blood, or at least they said they FOUND blood on it, because I didn't see it, and judged I had the right to defend myself.

Yeah, that kind of freaked me out, because it's like the bullet did NOTHING to him, he was just as fast as before, like it didn't even hurt him. I figured I was going to watch him double over and die or something.
