First Avenger Score / Soundtrack for Captain America

This is just me dreaming, but I'd kill for the theme to be a more theatrical version of Cap's theme from the MvC games.

Edit: How the hell do you get video embedding to work? I put the imbed code into the YT thing here on the forum.

That sounds like it would be in some erotic film.

I'm still holding out hope for James Horner

I don't think it's Horner. The guy said that two composers are in the running to score Captain America -- I doubt it's any of the RC people or obscure dual composers like Daft Punk or tomandandy.

The script has been delivered to Michael Giacchino's house.

Source? And I think he's busy, he got Cars 2, Super 8 and Mission Impossible:Ghost Protocol next year and adding Cap would too much for him.

[Edited]

That's cool if Giacchinno could fit this in an already busy year for him. Still would rather he'd scored the GL movie next year. But Caps better than nothing.

The funny thing is this is by a Japanese composer. The great Akira Ifubuki, but listening to a part of this, I could easily see guys, inspired by seeing Cap, jumping out of their foxholes and following him into battle.

As much as I love Williams, Id have to say Ifukubi is my fav film composer.

I agree Caps score needs to be Superman memorable.

I had actually thought MG was a distant possibility, given how in demand and high profile he is. I'd be over the bloody moon if he was selected to score CA. I loved the Star Trek and Up soundtracks, and I've heard enough of his video game scores that he has captured the big patriotic themes that should play in the movie.

But if it's Powell, I totally won't be disappointed either :cwink: Either way, if it's one of these two guys, I don't see how we lose!

If Giacchino decides to score this thing, then my excitement level for the film will go up tremendously.

I really don't get the love for Giacchino. I just can't get into him, like...at all.

His Star Trek score was great, and I also loved his score for Up.
I think his LOST score is f***ing beautiful. That is the main reason I'm in love with him.

And that's not the only great theme, there is plenty more gems as well.

Michael Giacchino forever. :cmad:

I thought star trek was pretty good, a solid 3 star album. Up, still haven't heard it, lost was good, I FORGOT all about his Lost World VG score.

I see it.

Giacchino also did a TON of scores for some war video games before he got huge, so he's got the credentials for war AND superhero movies!

My favorite Giacchino scores (other than Lost) are still The Incredibles and Ratatouille. I'd love it if he scored Cap.

The IMDB has changed the composer from John Powell to Michael Giacchino. I've checked Giacchino's resume on the Gorfaine-Schwartz web site, and his resume doesn't have the film listed as one of his next projects.

I'll wait until a reliable site or the teaser trailer confirms Giacchino's involvement.
