Any music in the film should be either score or something appropriate to the era.

There's nothing wrong with a Walk Out song. It might be nice to have an "I am Iron Man" moment.

Off the top of my head?

So what sort of soundtrack would you like "The First Avenger: Captain America" to have? I noted some suggestions in the news section and I'ld love to hear more.

An original score by Hans Zimmer would be nice along with...

Boogie-Woogie Boogie Man Halloween- Would be great for the Red Skull's entrance...

I would love to see Steve beat up nazis to this song...
[YT]fq8nnojmdbc[/YT]

and for the moment Bucky "dies" on the missle I can imagine something similar to this...

[YT]4YPBRooX2cM[/YT]

and of course for the USO circuit :cwink:

Oh, by the way, please feel free to post your previously suggested songs in the news section. It would be great for everyone to hear them!

I think Clint Mansell would be an interesting choice for a score composer in a WWII action/drama film. His music has been featured in Reqiuem for a Dream, The Fountain, The Road and Shutter Island. I believe his music would add a depth to the dramatic scenes of the movie.
On a related note I would recommend 2 Ghosts I by NIN for when Steve is sinking into the Atlantic.

please not James Horner! he steals so much, and i guarantee when the Red Skull appears on screen, you'll hear "the devil's interval".

If it's any "James" that JJ has worked with before, I've got my fingers crossed for James Newton Howard. James Horner bores me, and has done so for a decade now.

Cap's "death"

Cap's "revival"

I like Explosions in the Sky, but I definitely want an old school orchestral score for Cap.

I know it'd never happen, but Golly-G it'd be so nice to see.

Yeah, as I said, I don't think they'd be right for this movie, but I agree they need to do a full movie score ASAP.

This may be cheesy as hell but I really want Toby Keith's American Soldier somewhere in the movie.

I always listen to this song when I read cap

Toby Keith and (hopefully if they do it) 616 Cap are literally nothing alike. And for a good reason.

I'm not a country fan in general, but I really despise Toby Keith.

A lot do. I'm not really a country fan either myself, but he grew to "political". My dad listens to him a lot so that's how I know about him.

I dont really agree with his ideas, but at least the lyrics of the song are great for cap. The thing is I dont really see comic book fans being country fans either

well i said this on the news thread before, i rather go full on musical scores for the film, and have that ww2/war feel to them. Then if there is any commerical music in the film it would be songs from the era of the film is set in.

This would be a good song for when Cap first travels to Europe.

Dean Martin- Bye Bye Blackbird
[YT]ghu8vxpUq40[/YT]

This would be a great one for when the shield is first revealed.
Sammy Davis Jnr's Somethings gotta give

[YT]6Xwl4oVnbhU[/YT]

I would really like to hear lots of brass and snare drums. Like many other war movies

John Williams hands down for Cap

if not then James Horner. Steve Jablonsky sounds like a good fit for The Avengers while Hans Zimmer should do Thor.

Whoever does the score, it needs to sound classic and iconic. Cap needs a "hummable" theme IMO, because he's never had an iconic movie theme the way Superman or Batman have.
