Days of Future Past Scoring Days of Future Past - The Soundtrack/Music Thread

Thanks for the explanations, JP and NE. Still, I'm not too sure which version of the main title I prefer in DoFP, between the theatrical version and the CD version. :hmm

:D

Come on ! I mean the exact screenplay and story, with Vaughan & Jackman.

:D

I would give that movie a 7/10 maybe less.

See how ridiculous that sounds?

I just watched Superman Returns this week and I have to say that, I find DOFP's score so much better!

Does anyone know the score music playing right after Roberta Flacks "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" after Logan wakes up in the future at the end of the film?

It's a different version of Hope (Xavier's Theme); a softer and more melodic version. I hope it's not going to be an unreleased track. :csad:

that softer version of Hope is probably the emotional music I've ever heard in any of the films. Especially because the most intense part of it plays when Rogue is shown.

Yes, Hope is great and fits those scenes perfectly.

Earlier this month, DOFP got a special limited edition vinyl release of the soundtrack.

Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past – The Rogue Cut. The album features the original score from the new cut of last year’s hit film composed by John Ottman (The Usual Suspects, X2, Valkyrie, Superman Returns, The Fantastic Four), including new music which the composer recorded specifically for the new edition. X-Men: Days of Future Past stars Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Peter Dinklage, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen. ^^Thanks for posting that Elevator Man!

Since i don't have the soundtrack album i will probably (eventually) get this instead.:yay:

I didn't dare hope they would actually do this, considering how little film scores make on the CD market. This is simply fantastic.

Looking at the track list, it seems they're going to be giving us the full recording sessions for this film. Several of the tracks "Clothes Off – Goodbye Peter", "You Abandoned us All! – Yes, she Does" and "They Found Us – Remember the Xmen" to name a few, are made of two cues from the recording sessions for DOFP. Mad respect to John Ottman getting this released, it's rare to see a film like DOFP get even close to a full release, let alone an official CD of all recorded music for the film.
