Days of Future Past Scoring Days of Future Past - The Soundtrack/Music Thread

I really liked the 70s songs they used for this film like Time in a Bottle/The 1st Time I ever Saw Your Face, even though I haven't heard them before I saw the film.

This film had the best score of any X-Men film, tbh I could take or leave the songs (I'm more into 80s music) but I get the necessity of them to set up that its the 70s.

Xavier's theme is a little Mass Effect-esque in a good way.

I thought it was just me who noticed that, wasnt sure anyone would know what I was on about here though:woot:

Is that the one they used when Charles entered Cerebro and at the beginning, when the X-Men were walking down the X-Jet?

Hahaa. You'll love Oblivion's soundtrack then too. Also, I think it's a really good movie.

That movie confused and bored me :(.

And I just watched it like last Monday. WHats weird is its from same director of Tron Legacy. Awesome visuals but the story is just :(.

For me Tron was all FX, Oblivion had more soul than most people realize. Yes, I'm that smart. I love how it took its time.

I think X2 had a wayyyy better score. It was moody and organic and fit every single scene. This was decent, but needed a little more. I liked the music as Logan walks through the mansion and I love the Apocalypse music

I wish the music that Ottman wrote when Kitty was explaining Time Travel was on the OST. I :hrt: that part.

I absolutely adore Hope (Xavier's Theme)! It plays when the Professors meet and is just so emotional and powerful!

Aside from Xavier's theme (the best track), reappropriated X2 theme and the wonderful merging of the two, the soundract regrettably didn't rise above adequate. X2 had a better score with a wider host of distinct tracks befitting the different mood of the corresponding scenes.

Overall, John Powell's X-men 3 ost remains the high aural water mark of the franchise. Powerful, serene, tragic, beautiful, in the service of a consistently formidable orchestra.

The soundtrack is good, but something tells me the recording sessions (or expanded release) might be better. It's not quite as good as Ottman's score for X2.

Can anyone tell me the song that was playing when Wolverine, Professor X, and Magneto go to visit Quicksilver? It's playing in the background (on the radio) when they're convincing him to break in to the Pentagon.

It's not listed in the soundtrack.

It started off really well with the return of the theme, but then just sort of went nowhere. Not a very memorable score.

Does anyone know the score music playing right after Roberta Flacks "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" after Logan wakes up in the future at the end of the film?

It's a different version of Hope (Xavier's Theme); a softer and more melodic version. I hope it's not going to be an unreleased track. :csad:

This is bugging me--which track is the one where Magneto gets on the train and puts metal into the Sentinels? I know it's a small bit, but the music there is actually pretty powerful.

I was grinning so hard watching the main title and hearing Ottman's X-Men theme return. A strong score to go with a great film.

Time's Up Part 1 & 2, Hope, Hat Rescue, The Attack Begins, Join Me, Do What You Were Made For, I Have Faith In You... Are some really awesome tracks. I thought the music was amazing for the movie and fit really well and never felt out of place.
