Hi

The transformers are supposed to "scan" something to create their alternate forms right? So Scorponok scans a scorpion?

So transformers can imitate biological entities as well, not just machines?

And in the original "G1" Transformers as well. That's how the Dinobots and Insecticons came to being. The Ark was damaged and that's why it mistook machines as being the predominant lifeforms on the planet.

I thought Wheeljack and Ratchet designed the Dinobots and not the Ark. Optimus wanted something big and strong to counter Devastator and that's what they made him.

Somebody knows if scorponok in the movie has a robot form?, how it looks like?

he doesn't in the movie.....besides Anti-mod......the Dinobots R NOT IN THE MOVIE!

^ I don't think you can call it "combining", at least not like you would for say Devastator or whatever.

Scorponok more-a-less is like a passanger in Blackout, like the cassett tapes were on Soundwave in the cartoons.

Ah! So scorpy is more like a Ravage or Laserbeak type character. I thought I saw the toy had an bot mode though. Maybe I'm wrong.

Robot mode of the toy.....

^Robot mode looks stupid, I was under the impression that he was along the lines of lazerbeak type deal....silly...

The toy has a bot mode because it's pretty hard to sell "TURNS FROM ROBOT SCORPION TO .. boxy kind of thingy"

That's an aweful toy up there and a crappy transformation. I shall refrain from making a Gobot comparison.

Yeah, it's probably one of the worst transformations in Transformers history. The scorpion gets up.... and that's it.

Coming back to the main theme of the forum, someone knows if the protoform of scorponok looks like a scorpion or like an insect or is totally diferent?

It's a shame that Scorponok has been reduced to a small role in this film. In the original G1 comics, he was phsyically huge and had quite a strong leadership role in the Decepticons.

Gaz

Err...no, Wheeljack and Ratchet created the Dinobots using the fossils they found in the volcano, with a little help from Chip.

Yes, but that's not how it happened in the comic.
Nor in the toy bios on the box either AFAIK (since they were written by the same Marvel folks).
