I heard this was the intended plan from Kevin Williamson all along. Jill was going to survive in the end and get away with it. Then I think him and the Weinsteins (as usual lol) got into a creative fight and kevin got pissed and walked away. That was around the time they did additional shoots in the hospital, when originally they wrapped all the hospital scenes up.

So my guess after Kevin left, the Weinsteins got their way and Wes filmed the last hospital scene for the last 10 minutes of the movie. I like it either way. That last shot was very.......tragic and ironic.

If that was the intended ending... I wonder if Williamson just figured Dewey and Gale would be MIA... and not in Scream 5 at all... since Jill didn't kill them

He's still contracted for 5 I believe though. I don't think that's what the creative decision was about. I know Kevin can be a twisted man, but I don't think he intended Jill to get away with it. That ''Don't **** with the original." line was wayyy too him, to be an added in last minute thing.

Also...............

Neve Campbell did a Q&A at the end of my screening and someone in the audience asked if she'd return for a Scream 5. She answered with a YES.

After tonight I'll be able to join in the conversation :)

Well Dewey would be trying to protect Jill, and Jill would have written a book with Gale. So they'd still be in it. Gale's career would be on the upswing again.

In fact didn't Williamson only leave production mainly because of Vampire Diaries? I think the creative decision thing was overblow and it was probably something tiny. I have a feeling...

He wanted to have Kirby live. She really felt like before Charlie stabbed her that she was getting developed as much as Jill as a potential new Sidney.

I could see Kirby as the new Sid. I was actually surprised she died because then I knew that ALL THE NEW GENERATION was going to be dead by the end of this film... so it made the "remakes suck" theme work, but now there's definitely no new Sidney!

Williamson wanted Jill to live until Scream 6 and didn't want her revealed as the killer until then because he knew that they wanted a second trilogy.
That's a major reason he's pissed about being re-written.

But that line could have been written somewhere else in the script but then moved to be used in that scene at the end. We'll never know until it comes from them, but I'm just trying to put the pieces together lol.

And I don't mean it would be Ghostface vs Ghostface in Scream 5. Jill, in order for her to remain the victim and not be exposed for the hell she created in Scream 4, wouldn't be Ghostface. Someone else would be wearing the mask..............someone who's on to her and knows what she really did. And then maybe we don't even find out who that person is til the 6th and last film.

This is all just my theory. I love the idea of it. Think of the conflict! Jill can easily play this game with Ghostface and perhaps even beat him..............BUT then she blows her cover. So she's backed into a corner and HAS to uphold the "victim/hero" act. It starts driving her mad. She can't really talk to anyone about it because she's the only one who knows what she really did.

This is just my crazy imagination. I think it would make for some great drama and a completely new twist on the series.

Well, so much for [BLACKOUT]continuing with the younger generation.[/BLACKOUT]

So basically the rewrites KILLED the new trilogy? Because the idea for a trilogy was that Jill would live? So now there's no trilogy. Ha!

Where is everyone getting this Williamson wanted Jill to live stuff? I've yet to see any confirmation on this. It just seems like fan theories.

I don't mind being spoiled so I'm gonna ask, you can PM me if you want...

What was Jill's reason for it all?

I would have bought that, for sure.

In fact in EW Williamson said he was open to writing more and that he had more twists and turns up his sleeves. That doesn't sound like what you guys are speculating.

I don't know where 'everyone' is getting it, but I'm getting it from a friend of mine that's a fledgling writer in Hollywood that's pretty in the know about what's going on behind the scenes.

Ah. I don't trust **** like that. I need solid cold hard proof. The friend of mine thing never sells with me. Plus if he's so fledgling and struggling he wouldn't be in the know about a major franchise like this.

What was Jill's reason for it all?

She wanted fame like cousin Sid.

He isn't struggling, he's just young and just starting out. But he's been telling me about behind the scenes stuff for years and hasn't given me any false info yet.

What you believe is up to you.

Eh. I don't think if the creative difference was THAT huge, the man would be in a major publication saying he still had twists and turns for the story, but that's just me.

just got back from the movie....only one thing thats really bugging me that i need to know; why was Hayden Panettiere's [blackout]hair cut so f**king awful?![/blackout]
