I was surprised though there weren't cracks at 3D movies. Considering how many of them we've gotten over the past couple of years, it seemed like a given 3D movies would be lampooned in this one.

No Craven made a film he wanted in 2-D and the studio wanted to cash in with 3-D. Wes has went on in detail about how he hated the outcome of that movie.

I still think what hurt this movie was timing. Way too much time between sequels.

I think the release date was what hurt it. Belated sequels can still perform well when they have good timing and enough publicity.

So I watched it last night finally. Pretty decent. Although the "red herrings" were a bit too obviously played up. It was like "here look! RED HERRING!!!!!" And I thought some of the humour came off a bit too forced.

I really liked the new characters. Kirby was awesome. Also Deputy Judy was great in her own weird and slightly creepy way.

The death scenes were ok. Pretty generic really and not tense or scary... at all. Although death by being stabbed through a letter box? That's class.

Oh gof, lol. Personally, I don't think Scream needs 3D. I mean, it can work, but it just wouldn't feel right, IMO.

Let's see if it actually happens. This might be Weinstein trying to salvage DVD sales. Didn't Jeff Robinov or one of the Warners guys claim until they were blue in the face that SR2 was happening? Studio executives lie. I'll wait and see before I start jumping for joy.
