Scream 5 in Development

Wow, I'm slow. I just realized that the slash across the logo is a play on a strikethrough tally mark. IIII

That's a really clever way to nod to 5! And to be honest a lot better than 5 Cream. :funny:

I hate the internet’s habit of being like “Ooh, this female celeb is over 40 and she doesn’t look like an old hag ITS AMAZING!!!” but she’ll be 50 in three years and she honestly looks better than she did in the first movie. Sorcery.
Hell yes!! she looks fantastic, of course. Great to see Sidney back!

Cool and I've always liked Heather Matarazzro going all the way back to the Princess Diaries 1 and 2 lol. I even liked her in Hostel: Part II which was a pretty crappy sequel IMO, but I felt bad for her character the most.

Haha yeah she really had the worst death in that movie.

Could mean there are more Randy tapes...

My god, I can't believe how excited I am for this movie. This is already going in directions that I was hoping for Scream 4.

Lol I guess they could always de-age Jamie Kennedy for the tapes, but I don't know how much he'd know about horror reboots in the 1990s.

Randy was always a pretty clever movie geek. Maybe he saw the trends coming before they happened! :oldrazz: And "high numbered" franchise sequels were definitely a thing by then, so maybe that would be his angle.

They may not actually go there and bring back Jamie, but it's fun to think about the possibilities. Either way, loving the adherence to franchise continuity being shown so far.

I guess they're not doing a Halloween 2018 route, and this is following the other sequels. I'm glad.

Yeah this trend of “ignore all the crappy sequels... even the ones that featured the same actors who are in this one... this is the REAL sequel” needs to end. I liked Halloween 2018 but I also was like, didn’t I already see this movie 20 years ago?

To be fair, Halloween had a very good reason because they wanted to get rid of the sister subplot. And H20 already did the "ignore the sequels" thing in 1998 so there was a precedent there.

There's nothing in the Scream sequels that really changes the mythos of ghostface (ala Halloween II) since it's always a new killer(s) with each new film.
