Being that there are actual actors in the movie, how much screen time do you think the Autobots and Decepticons will get?

From the looks of things quite a lot actually.

I really hope so. I wanna see Prime all the time. Prime Prime Prime.

IF the leaked script hasn't been changed that much then Prime won't be appearing untill about a third of the way through.

Considering how old the leaked script is....A LOT has changed.

Don't start that crap with me, I was there for the dreaded months of X3 apologists assuming the script had changed A LOT.

This script hasn't either. It matches the teaser so far, every scene they've filmed is accounted for, they even said the script "was on lockdown [and that only] jokes were being rewritten to make the moments of levity funnier".

It's a dangerous assumption to assume anything has changed or will change. The Transformers (aside from non speaking Decepticons) make up 15% (approximately) of the entire script. The three main stories are Josh Duhamal's arc, Maggie's arc and the main one is Shia trying to win the heart of Megan Fox's character. Optimus and the Autobots are a mere sideplot not to be introduced until page 60...we only realize Bumblebee is an Autobot on page 50. [blackout]And furthermore the humans are responsible for the death of all but one (Barricade) of the Decepticons...leaving Starscream the only survivor[/blackout]. However every scene in that teaser is more or less accounted for...don't expect Bay to funnel in tons of dialogue, if history shows us anything Bay cuts out dialogue, considering the Island was missing 30 minutes worth.

I tell you something Bay had better not cut out the final bit of dialouge at the end of the movie. I get chills every time i read it.

Thankfully, he gets a lot of screen time AND a lot of dialogue.... which is awesome. If this movie ends up being any kind of watchable, it'll be because of Optimus.... because as it stands everything else is crap.

I don't know, expensive sfx ($) and long, lenghty screentime ($$$$) usually don't go together. More than likely the fx will be spread out and interspersed throughout the film.

It's one thing for an extended scene full of sfx. But a whole movie...that would make the robots the stars--god forbid.

not really, every part of the trailer is identified in the script.

CFlash why are you involved in the Transformer board? You clearly hate every little thing about the movie.

Um, didn't I just say how awesome Optimus was in the movie. Sheesh. Get over yourself.

I'm not the one that moans about just about anything to do with the movie.

One time I sat down, and stopwatched the CGI dino's in the first Jurassic Park [not counting the animatronic ones of course], and came up with measly FIVE minutes of CGI Dinosaurus screen-time. Back in 1993, it is only understandable, that the filmmakers did their best to have those five minutes seem like hours of rel dino's.

Not sure howmuch sense my post makes  :oldrazz:

Yah, but the humans in that movie were good characters too.

You're quite right. I also recall peopple saying, that the Dino's were the real stars of the show [I guess due to the "wow" factor].

However the Dino's aren't suppose to be characters like say Starscream is.

Well, if that leaked script is anything to go by, Optimus Prime will probably be the most talked-about character of the movie.

i have a feeling Optimus will be portrayed sort of like Kong was. he wasn't the man character, but he'll be heavily focused upon.

The Raptor's had only 5 minutes screen time??? That was one of the most terrifying span of time since Aliens then. I must have watched JP five times in the theater.... and this was back in the day when there were lines around the block to boot.

Yeah... I kinda got that sense too from the script. It's not necessarily a bad thing. It puts him in context for the rest of the audience... that may not be TF fans.

My only problem is the amount of time devoted to the entirely superflous "Sector-7" military guys. I totally would have rather see the military relegated to the background in a "they're powerless against the bots" sort of way. Way too much time is devoted to them and their kick-ass-ness--- something that to me is totally Anti-TF.

I still havent read the script and from what I see from the trailer, this film has rejuvinated my liking of it.

"I have witnessed their capacity for courage.....and much like us, there's more than meets the eye.

...I am Optimus Prime...and i send this message to all surviving Autobots taking refuge among the stars. You are not alone.....

We are here. We are waiting".

:D

Seemed weird to me. I thought the whole original struggle in both the comic and cartoon was to keep bots (of all kinds) AWAY from Earth. Not to bring the WAR here. It's what drove the entire struggle to prevent the Decepticons from building the space bridge, no?

Seems to me if you beckon Autobots to come, then Decepticons will follow. Doesn't that make sense? A much better storyline would have been the opposite of that. A scary story like the last Alien Nation series storyline where they fight to keep an overseer from sending out a signal to space. I dunno. The end of the TF script just seemed contrived.

it's an easy out for a sequel. Autobots draw more Decepticons. and I'd forgotten all about Alien Nation, that's crazy.
