Well like i said, from what was mentioned apparently he was the one to go up to Megs and OP said something along the lines of "nooooo Jazz" and then the epic fight ensued. In the movie we got it just seems like he's trying to get away while Megs is the one to go to him.

Even if Jazz would have put up a fight for 30 seconds or something, it would have at least shown that he isnt extremely weak, which is what he came accross as in the movie unfortuntely.

I disagree, Jazz looked hard on screen. Even from the moment of his transformation and how he diverts Megatron's attention from the allspark indicates how brave and skillful he was. It was only when he was taken to the sky and pinned down (his gun did seem a bit weak) was that he was ripped apart.

Jazz's death in my opinion was shown to be quick and brutal, showing how much of a Badass Megatron was. It wasn't meant to show Jazz as weak, because he could've held his own I'm sure. And no other Autobot engaged him (if I remember well). In fact all of the autobots retreated yelling "Megatron!" It just showed Megatron being all that more of a badass. Not even Optimus Prime did much of a better job.

A better director would have inserted a quick close up of his face, his eyes... seeing the life blink out of him or SOMETHING to communicate the sadness of the moment. Every scene in this movie is meant to look COOL and only that. Fortunately for the director... a lot of people seem to fall for that.

See, if we emphasize the death of a character we don't really know, its kind of pointless. The purpose of his death was to show how easily and insignificant his death was. How easily Megatron savagely ripped his ass in 2 and tossed away the remains.

It shows how death in war isn't pretty or over exaggerated. That's my interpretation of it and I loved it. Megatron was a real bad ass.

well technically speaking he's the only autobot referred to as a lieutenant. calling him first or second doesnt matter hes still the main lieutenant for optimus.

Yeah i remember that, but i always thought Ironhide was Prime's oldest friend so i naturally thought he would be leiutenant.

He's not only Prime's oldest friend he's the oldest Autobot period. Sometimes rank has nothing to do with age. Like the graduates of West Point are made lieutenants in the US Army and put in charge of soldiers that are sometimes much older and have many more years in combat.

It always seemed to me that Jazz has always been Prime's "2nd in command" in combat- on the field (while Prowl was the intellectual "2nd in command" in tactics. He was probably up on Mars watching everything happen in the movie). Ironhide is just an old vet.

P.S. I still hate that Jazz was a shrimp in the movie. It actually pisses me off every time I think about it.

He's a car. Cars are smaller than trucks. He has to be smaller than Ironhide and Ratchet or else people will complain about size changing like they do with Blaster and Soundwave.

I wish Ironhide had been in the movie a bit more as well, seeing as he was a weapons specialist. He would more likely have given Megatron a better fight than Jazz could/would have.

what bothered me about ironhide and ratchet is that they ran away when megatron showed up and hid somewhere while megs fought optimus and bumblebee fought devastator/brawl. I was really annoyed at that the most, seeing as ratchet was off somewhere for most of the time the autobots were on screen, we only see ratchet do one thing in the big fight uh.... well jazz was great and they writers will hopefully respect the fans wishes to return him in the sequel or i will never be 100% satisfied with how the films are heading

Yeah i agree with all of this. Ironhide and Ratchett should have had more to do definately. Or maybe they just shouldnt have blown Bumblebee's legs off and he could done more in the final battle. Just have him really injured toward the end as that scene were Sam says he's not leaving needs to be kept.

I agree, i thought all the Autobots were done well, just wasnt enough of them except for Bumblebee and Prime.

Hopefully the guy who voiced Jazz is right and the peice of Allspark can bring him back. I hope he comes back as the same size though, size shouldnt really matter when we are talking alien robots .

Well i think it would be great to see a smaller TF take out a bigger one. Would look great on screen and show that the toughness of TF's doesnt depend on size.

very true but i would rather see someone like grimlock being stepped on by devastator, and then seeing him lift up devastator's foot with him straining underneath showing strength is not all about size.

I'm not sure how tough megatron was, but jazz came across as slightly soft though and somewhat fragile.

Agreed on all points, though he willingly engaged Megatron, he was disposed of far too easily IMO. As for your first paragraph, that i would love to see.

Great pic! I loved what little what were able to see of him and I sure hope they bring him back in the follow up. I thought like many on this board that the final fight between Jazz and Megatron was to quick, we all know that Megatron is more powerful, but at least let Jazz put up a bit of a fight, he did not hesitate when Megatron first showed up and went right at him so he should have lasted a little bit longer, and come on what was with his gun? It looked like he was hitting Megatron with a cap gun, bring back Jazz!
