Given the mixed feelings towards Serpentor. Do we want him on a sequel? If so how can we deal with him? Is he the combination of the genes of the worlds greatest soldiers/leaders or something else? Remember to vote; this I command!
Should he have the Golden Cobra Armor? or something else?

No Links to COBRA LA for me...

I say have the Commander/JGL don the golden armor towards the end of the sequel and then deliberately lampoon it.

I wanna see Serpentor on the big screen cause he's so over the top. To have a bad guy in gold is just very odd. Don't get me started on his battle cry. Can a Serpentor be done seriously? Yes. with a lot of tweaking.

If they do a GI Joe vs. Transformers movie and based if loosely off of the Serpentor arc of the GIJVTF comics, where he is a synthetic lifeform reverse engineered from Megatron, then I could see him possibly working. Otherwise, I'd say he sucks and should not be in a movie ever.

No. And simply because he doesn't work with the film storyline. Let's just keep it Cobra vs Joe for the films. :)

btw...off topic. When are we getting GI Joe Resolute on DVD?? that series is freaking awesome.

For the direct sequel to the first movie... No! for the trilogy, maybe. Depending alot of how he would be used.

Me personally would probably explain Serpentor as Cobra Commander's ultimate projects... Like, Cobra Commander and Dr.Mindbender had created a serium that the user faster stronger abilities, without mind control, or with the ability to be able to control the minds of the cobra soldiers just by thoughts... the serum intended on being used on the cobra commander is actually used on a g.i.joe who is fired or some story where he is left behind. i dont know leave that up to the writers but make it somehwat believable.

I'd prefer steering clear of Serpentor, a little too cheesy (even for GI Joe). I really enjoyed the Serpentor storyline where Cobra was searching for the DNA of the greatest warriors/leaders/etc. to create Serpentor. Such a great arc in the animated series but it'll just be lame in the live-action. Stick with Cobra Commander, Destro, etc.

What was with so many characters not making the cut for the film or getting snuffed out already?

1 word: run time. The more characters you try to fit into a 2 hour movie, the more you risk it turning into a revolving door of extended cameos like Wolverine.

Agreed. Serpentor was the cartoon's "jumping of the shark"
The movie franchise should stay away from the supernatural.

Disagree.

I liked Serpentor and how he was created, it was one of my found memories as a kid. I thought the show "jumped the shark" as you say, when Cobra La was brought in the GI Joe Animated Movie.

Some of the shows stories and adventures were beyond ridiculous and corny way before Serpentor came in. So jumping the shark? Nays...

Serpentor sucks. Stick with Cobra Commander, unless someone comes up with a great idea for Serpentor and radically changes him around. Radical change is only way he will work.

I'm not saying I want Serpentor in the next live action movie, I was just saying I liked him in RAH cartoons.

Amusingly, the only reason Serpentor exists is due to a lack of communication between the writers and the toy designers. The toy designers came up with a figure called "Cobra Emperor" who was Serpentor. They didn't bother asking the writers first, so they didn't realize that Cobra Commander was at the top of the Cobra hierarchy, and that he wants to become an emperor by taking over the world. Unfortunately, the toy was already prepped for production, so they had to find some way of shoehorning a this character with an outrageous looking costume into the show's continuity, which is where we got Serpentor from.

I liked the costume, but I guess that's just me.

I loved Serpentor. His intro on the Joe cartoon taught me about DNA. And history. I liked his costume, his war cry, his arrogance. I don't see his creation as jumping the shark. I agree with the poster that said Cobra La was jumping the shark.

Though if he ever wound up in a movie I think the original comic book origin, of him being a super soldier/general more so than emperor might work. However, I liked his cartoon outfit over the comic one, which was just that cobra hood/cowl and cape, but no shirt underneath.
