What are your Gripes/Concerns with the project?

lol!! you have a funny sense of imagination....love it!!

no prob! have i told you how much i love DB?

It is good to see that people here have realistic expectation in terms of length of the movie.

90 minute tops.

anyone know if piccolo will be green? when can we expect a trailer?

^hurray! Life Is Happy Again!
And Marsters seems really excited for the role.

TV Guide: You're plunging into a big sci-fi feature next. Can you talk about the live-action Dragonball?
Marsters: Dragonball is the coolest television cartoon in the last 50,000 years. Its only failing is that the female characters aren't drawn well — we're going to fix that in the movie. It's got a Shakespearean sense of good and evil and there are incredible action scenes with characters of unbelievable power. It's going to be really visually exciting. I was told the budget is about $100 million.

TV Guide: Nice to know you're so enthusiastic. Who do you play?
Marsters: Lord Piccolo. He's thousands of years old and a very long time ago he used to be a force of good but got into a bad argument and was put into prison for 2,000 years. It got him very angry, and he finds a way to escape and then tries to destroy the world. The cool thing is, anybody who has seen Dragonball knows that Lord Piccolo transforms into a character named Piccolo, and that is a whole other ball of wax. That is one of the most popular characters in the whole series. I've been told I'm working for people who will just flay me alive if I give too much information, but what I can tell you is the character is green, bald and has pointed ears. Heroic wouldn't be the wrong term by the end, but it's a long journey.

Btw nice avatar.

wow i hadnt read that...and thanks, ya im a EP fan

my main concern is too much of a western influence and that it won't truelly reflect well on the source material.

That sums it up. White Goku, but asian castmates. It's like they're trying to cater to both sects (american and japanese) but moreso to the american crowd by making Goku white.

I do agree somewhat with this, but if Goku's an alien (who just happens to look Caucasian) there's no guarantee he'd land in the West. Basically, it's not that unbelievable that he'd crash in some part of the world that was populated by Asians.

Either way, I don't care. The movie will either be a ton of fun or suck.

Let's see.

Asian:
Joon Park
Chow Yun-Fat
Eriko Tamura
Jamie Chung
Randull Duk Kim

White:
Justin Chatwin
Emmy Rossum
James Marsters

Black:
Ernie Hudson
Texas Battle, Shirvon Kirksey

Mexican:
Luis Arretia

I'm not complaining about the amount of asian people. I think they did more than what I was expecting.

Why are people saying that there will only be 2 sequels because it is completely & absolutely 100% impossible to do the rest of DBZ in just 2 movies. I mean COME ON!! How in the holy scorching, fiery pits of hell are they supposed to fit the entire Saiyan, Frieza, Cell & Buu Sagas into just 2 movies?
"No. I absolutely refuse to believe it!" - Vegeta.
At best it would have to be 4 not 2. This just really shows how unbelievably garbage these live action movies are going to be. And here I thought that they were actually going to make a better effort with the rest of the DBZ storyline but it seems like they're managing to disappoint everyone yet again. Congratulations Fox, you are single handedly killing off one the greatest ever cartoon franchises. Bravo.

I think when FOX said they had a Trilogy in mind they meant:

1. Dragonball (2009)
2. Dragonball: Saiyans
3. Dragonball: Frieza

No Cell, No Majin Buu.

Thats exactly what I was thinking, but people have to find a problem with everything:liz:

The only fear I have about the sequel is if they try to cram in the Saiyan Saga with the Frieza saga and for the Third film end it with the Androids and Cell.

I'm hoping thats not the case.

By the time the movies got to the Majin Buu ****, people would be like, end it already. Seriously. And we won't even get into the amount of CGI that saga would require.

^only if the movies are sub-par....if the movies are rediculously epic than people are going to continue to want more.

it is tough to stretch out a movie that far and still make it enjoyable

My gripe right now is having to wait for an official pic and teaser trailer
