Sgt. Rock

I would have loved to have Reznor and Atticus join Damon Lindelof again on the Green Lantern show.
Feels like the pitch about mixing noir and SF would have been a perfect match for Reznor's melancholy, minimalist piano lines and complex, rich textures.
Lindelof's had a new composer with every new show he's done, so I'm assuming Lanterns will be w/ a composer he's not worked on before, but Reznor on Lanterns would also rule

SGT Rock — In the wake of Daniel Craig stepping away from the Luca Guadagnino planned directed WWII scripted by Challengers Justin Kuritzkes, the DC duo are looking for actors to play the title protag. The duo said that they never met with Craig, “he was never attached.” Added Safran, “What we love about SGT Rock is the opportunity to tell a story about heroism and conflict in compelling and unique way. Justin really wrote a wonderful screenplay and that’s what catapulted that project to the forefront.” The movie will shoot this summer if they can find the right actor.

Man. I am so stoked for this. They really should have their pick of the litter here as far as actors go. Craig was never officially attached and we got report of Allen White so maybe the range is 30-50ish.

“Gunn says Daniel Craig was never in the running, hE’s BAckTrACkiNg!” - Twitter folks following almost no one I haven’t already blocked

Literally show me where Gunn ever said it would be Craig. :o

Fair to assume his schedule is packed as all hell, but they should be beating down Glen Powell’s door for this IMO.

Tom Hardy? Josh Brolin? Michael Fassbender?

McConaughey!

That's not a bad pick. Depending which direction they go for BATB / DCU Batman, he's on my shortlist for that.

After Craig, my mind went to Brad Pitt lol. But, admittedly, I don't know much about Sgt. Rock outside of that DC Showcase animated short released a few years back. And that didn't scream Jeremy Allen White, IMO

I was open to the idea of White, but admittedly, I’m sure there are much stronger candidates out there.

To me, I feel like a Glen Powell is the ideal. Good look, good age, star power. I considered Brolin and McConaughey, but honestly, an actor under 50 feels like a stronger choice. Not that I’m betting on franchise potential, I just feel like they’re a bit old for the part now.

It's generally hard to Imagine today's youngsters as rugged soldier Sgt. Rock.

At least Jeremy Allen White had an unconventional look going on for him.

But let's see who they'll get.

Patrick Schwarzenegger.

Huh. It'll be interesting to spend time with Oz during his war days. :D

But on the real, if true, cool. Hopefully we still get as much of him as we can in the Reeves-verse, too. Though, if this is a period piece, not like he'll be in the DCU long term unless he also gets frozen in the ice.

i see some people have gone from “Farrell is unrecognizable as Penguin” to “they can’t hire Farrell for this, he’s Penguin!” :o 😂

This would be an inspired get to go along with the rest of the crew.

I hope this finally settles it for everyone that the DCU and The Batman universe are separate. Jeff Sneider and John rocha can finally shut the **** up about this crap.

It sadly just means they’ll run with Reeves’ work being in jeopardy because someone in it is working with Gunn more. Like how Reeves producing more with Gunn magically means they’re at odds. 😂

Hit the panic button for the future of Matt Reeves’ Batman universe lol
To be fair, mf’s are hitting that button every 27 seconds. :o

They see Pattinson on the street not filming Batman Part II and they say “Rob, why aren’t you filming Batman Part II right now?”

I think the nature of being as unrecognizable as he is as Penguin leaves the door open for more of their baseless speculation.

Honestly, it once occurred to me how funny it would be for a character at the center of the mystery in Part II/III/etc. to be played by Farrell sans makeup bc no one would be expecting it.
