This is just a "Shake-the-Tree" Post, to see what everyone else knows. I'm still waiting on any news about the re-release of X2. The last I heard both Singer and P.Jackson were teasing us w/ the idea that they were going to give us a re-releases of X2 and LOTR.

We've got the Extended Spiderman 2.1, we got the Extended FF4, WE NEED Extended X2.1

If anyone can dig around Marvel or know some DVD company that has this info, or can get on Avi Arad about it. Let me know.

I would even love to hear any news about a re-cut of X3--since that mystrious storyboard of Cyclop and Juggernaut never happened? I'd like to believe somewhere there is footage of more scrap and less mutant-changing scringes taken out every one that is worth mentioning(psylock, mystique).

Keep us posted, if any has the skinny of this new DVD release dates.

1. Is an extended X2 really needed? What are we missing that wasn't in the original version? A few scenes perhaps? A lot of material was never filmed, or doesn't exist in finished form, and therefore cannot be reinserted. Stuff like Nightcrawler fighting Toad at the dam, Gambit's cards exploding and Beast's blue fur growing when Cerebro targets mutants and their powers go crazy, Cyclops finding Archangel at the dam --- as far as i know, none of that was filmed...

2. Singer is unlikely to come back into Fox studios and do any re-cutting of his earlier movies, as he is concentrating on other projects.

3. If anything, X1 and X2 need extended versions, not X2.

4. 'Definitive' editions of X1 and X2 were released last month... although they don't add anything new apart from a new cover as far as I know!

Yeah, I saw that--I had thought they were only region 2 (U.K) discs, and yes your right extended one and two would be better than just one, but I didn't want to say it. Because after they X1.5. People would scream to high-heaven about what FOX does to their fans and their marketing of these films on disc.

Any scenes where Toad and Nightcrawler scrap would be great or even a Beast transformation, I would even be happy w/ an extended Colossus scene or a Danger room sequence or even what happens to Pyro in the helicopter at teh end would be great. But to think of those actually existing is only going to drive me more insane, you have to agree FOX is holding back something...I say just give us all you got.

I meant to say that X1 and X3 need extended editions MORE than X2...

I doubt the scenes you mention were filmed. There might be storyboards for Toad vs Nightcrawler though.

Who knows what they have in the vaults.

An Extended Edition of X3 is the most important of all.

Look how long it took them to do an extended Fantastic Four....

I'd like a fully edited version of X3 with 14 of the 20 deleted scenes inserted back in and NOT branched like X1...I'd like that in a DVD with DTS 6.1, and two new commentary tracks, with one, preferably with some cast on it...

What X3 needs is remake not extended edition...

And I agree with most of you with that that X2 doesn't need extended edition. I'm quite happy with it like it is. BUT I wouldn't be pissed if there'd pop up one.

Obviously, X3 is NOT going to get a remake. A sense of realism wouldn't go amiss. Must you always be known for one-line sniping comments that contain little sense?

Okay... When did I say something that sounds like I believed that X3 would get remaked? Never. It's just my same ol' *****ing about X3.

^ That's what I've been wondering myself. I've been waiting for the update of the dvd features section to see if there's anything different about this version other than the packaging.

I bought these definitive editions. The sound and picture quality has been adjusted. Special features are exactly the same. I thought a couple of scenes in X2 looked a little different. Hard to verify for sure without watching them all on screens at the same time!

(In the Japanese version of X3, I also thought there was a difference - the scene where Magneto and Xavier go back to Jean's house seemed longer (their walk through the house was longer, we saw more of the house) and the Dark Phoenix destruction on Alcatraz seemed extended. Again, I can't be 100% on this without watching side by side)

I dont think X1 needs another release bc 1.5 was sufficent as was X2's set. X3 definetly needs one and Ive holded off on buying the film bc its lacking

There were some deleted scenes but I don't think they'd add too much to the story. Only reason I'd buy it if there are tons more Wolverine or Magneto scenes.

I'd prefer a Region 1 Director's Cut of X1 and X3.

X2 was the most complete out of the three films, IMO.
