Shane Black is a great writer, and his directorial debut movie Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is a great film. I hope him returning to Predator is just what the franchise needs.

Can anyone clarify, did Shane Black ever actually do any rewrite work on the original? I recall the story was he was brought on to be a writer for and ended up getting cast in the film. OR I might be mis-remembering that and he was cast in the film so the production would have a writer on set to possibly do some quick rewrites.

I think he did. I read a pretty lengthy Q and A they all did when the anniversary came around, and I wanna say it even had something to do with him playing his little bit part. I'm not positive though.

Too bad that a director with two highly rated films will want to ruin his streak with Predator. This movie has no chance of not being a failure.

A'm not blinded with hope like many of you. This film will be bad.

And yes, I will shut up. My next post will be when a trailer drops.

Considering the talent in front and behind the camera, there is more reason to be hopeful. Simple as.

I'm not gonna dismiss this movie prior to seeing it. But the first film was such a strong singular idea that I'm not sure if it's possible to come up with another idea (not to mention execute it) that lives up to the legacy.
