Why would they even hint at it for effect?I think that's just for effect. It's not him actually controlling the ship.

Hah, well if I awoke on a table with someone trying to remove my pants, I guess I'd freak out too!t:
As Moridin stated earlier, it's quite likely that the scenes aren't actually linked. It would seem a bit daft if so. There's a chance the kid (who has that alien tech) somehow emits a signal to the Predator ship (which then crashes) but I doubt he's controlling the crash.
I was under the impression that advanced screenings or whatever had been well received?

The same reason the put Hulk in that Wakandan scene he wasn't in; to get people talking. Then why did they edit it that way in the trailer? This is the way it was edited at CinemaCon as well.
I'm sure, if you watch the film, these answers will present themselves. Otherwise, just come back here a few days after the films release and someone will tell you.Why is this kid even in the movie? Why does a kid get a package of alien tech?
I didn't mind Legend of the Sword. Sure, it wasn't remotely historically accurate, but it was an enjoyable popcorn flick.King Arthur: Legend of the Sword was apparently doing well in test screenings before it came out.
Think he just means subverting expectations by killing the kid, Moridin. I don't think the kid'll die, but it'd be the type of ballsy writing Shane would do. Remember he wanted to brutally kill Riggs at the end of his Die Hard sequel before the suits got all over that.

There was a child in Alien. There was a child in Requiem. Children exist, and can add to the plot of a film. I further believe this child has (what we'd perceive as) a disability, which makes him key to defeating the threat posed.

Is that not what I've just said? The trailer for IW showed Hulk in Wakanda, when the film didn't have him in.Except Hulk wasn't even in Wakanda. And they overlayed a Hulk CG model over the Hulkbuster model. Which was a bit pointless IMO, since we knew Hulkbuster was already in Wakanda as well and people had already guessed it was Banner piloting it.
It's easy for people to criticise a film before actually watching it.Requiem was horse manure and it's probably a comparison this film would not want to draw.

You mean Lethal Weapon?
IIRC, wasn't Riggs originally meant to actually die when Joss Ackland riddled him with a machine gun at the end of Lethal Weapon 2, and him miraculously surviving was a last minute addition?
You guys are seriously thinking this will be another AVP:R?
Was that ever established in the movies? It's not like Predator 2 takes place 100 years after the first movie?I hope this isnt another dawsons creek type crap like avpr was. I really do hope they show humans finally researching these creatures and maybe more mythos established. Also ditching the dumb every 100 years they comeback to earth stuff.
The #metoo movement had better Predator reveals than this trailer.

I did not at any point think the kid was actually piloting the spaceship. Pretty sure it's just edited to position the imagery of an innocent child playing around against the imagery of what will be a violent invasion by an alien race of warriors. And it's darkly humorous, because the kid is pretty spot on.
That's what I took from it anyway.
