Shane Black Directing Predator Sequel! - Part 2

I suspect this could be a sleeper.

The Super Predator thing is explained and it makes sense.

If I were to apply Predator logic, assuming I’ve hunted all the game there was to hunt in the universe, it would make sense for me to physically upgrade myself and hunt other Predators. Although that kinda reminds me of the Berserker Preds M.O.

I think nostalgia has placed a level of quality that wasn't there.
Talking about original Predator? I dont agree. That film is masterpiece. I watched it multiple times in 90's, 00's, and now just few months ago (because of this film). That film is just as good as I first time watched it. IAnd given today's movie standards what's considered good it would be every year best movie of the year.

Holy sheeeeiiiiitttt. That's one brutal trailer. Like, "made me a little squeamish" level of crazy.

Well, there goes people's "worried it'll be PG-13" concerns. From that this probably looks more gross/violent than even the first two.

Still looks a little too CG in places to me, but hell, every movie looks too CG these days to me. *Shrugs* I'm not going to hold that against it, given it's hardly the only one guilty of it - the entire MCU for example.

Loving that shot of the pred de-cloaking in the tree, awesome. Same look & feel as the original effects, only updated and done digitally. Still looks/feels right too. So what, would that be Holbrook's first encounter with one, the prologue/setup before he comes back to the U.S.?

Still doesn't give any hints as to what the actual dynamic between these various predators is too. Which is probably a good thing, go in completely blind. I'm really curious about that though, what the big guy's beef is with them. Hope it's more than him just being sort of "feral", big dumb guy going all bloodlust-y and with no real motive, I can get past the lame "extreeeeeme predator, duuuudes" crap if he has an actual personality and mission and isn't just, you know, The Hulk.

The prosthetics look awesome in that shot at 56s in, too. Obviously no Winston, but that's about as good as non-Winston stuff gets, looks a lot better than they did in the AvP flicks & Predators.

Sounds like Allen's actually playing a British guy here, from that one line (sounded like it to me anyway), didn't expect that. This trailer really plays up how crazy all the merc guys seem too, get a better sense of them all being totally bananaballs screwloose. :)

Had forgotten Strahovski's in this too, a surprise to see her as the wife.

The lab/military complex stuff is seeming pretty interesting to me too, that banter between Brown & Munn is fun.

Pretty much sold on this by now, in any case. Nitpicks aside, pretty confident it'll be up and above anything we've had since 2.

That second part in your post, what ya talking about, bald man? You forgot to quote someone else. lol

Yeah, the guy who replied underneath your original post I quoted. Didn’t feel like quoting a ridiculous comment like that.

You pretty much nailed the script explanation for it. Cheers, bald man.

I'm seeing this Wednesday. I am going with very low expectations so that is good for me.

PS: Black Narcissus who is the babe in your avy?

^ That Upgrade Predator has a damn METAL fang on it's mandible.

I'm sold with that trailer, I just hope Munn annoyance will be minimal

but I do think that ultimate predator is too big just absurd

This is the dude in the Predator suit this go around, Brian Prince. 6' 9", does parkour.

Seeing it tomorrow (5th) at 6pm. Will post some thoughts after.

Kinda weird they're putting some of the gross/bloody stuff from the red-band trailer into the regular TV spots now, haha.

Maybe because it looks so comically bad. Seriously, the part where the guy practically explodes, looks like the blood is made of jello.

Like...every CG thing ever does. In every movie.

It's fine. Doesn't look awesome, but it's pretty par for the course. Predators had some of that type of stuff too.

OK, so I watched this...movie tonight. Just as I expected the movie was just awful!

The movie was not that bad untill the Ultimate predator showed up with those ridiculous hounds. From there on it was just terrible. The worst part was the acting from most of the actors, mostly Olivia Munn. And the movie looked VERY cheap at times.

The final was just ridiculous with the space ship.

How long did the normal Predator last? Did they extend his scenes, or did they stick to the original script and he finds his end, after he gets smashed into the car?

He lasted longer

But was it “fun”?

I did not check to see anymore trailers before today, and I loved the 5 days old trailer. Should be a cool movie.
