Shane Black Directing Predator Sequel! - Part 2

Collider Review (no spoilers but story discussed) so don't click if wanting to go in blind as such....

Arnold's not in the movie unless they've pulled some super-secret fakeout, guys. They've been pretty open about it from the start that Shane wanted him in it (can't remember about Glover, maybe him too), but Ahhhhnuld didn't like what he was reading on the page and declined.

Probably due to, yeah, it being a cameo, and Arnold's got an ego bigger than that sword he had in Conan.

Spoiler for Arnold in the movie:

He is not in the movie. No cameo.

Yeah. Shane said as much pretty soon after it started production, cool to see he wasn't pulling an Abrams/Into Darkness.

Her castmates abandoned her .

Jacob Tremblay is the only castmate doing press with her:

Those men are all cowards. Every last one of them. The only man among the cast is Jacob. He is a little boss. Black hasn't even contacted her to apologize. I just think so much lesser of Black and the male cast members at this point.

I love Munn here and it is probably important it was her in this position. They know how vocal she is willing to be. That basically forced their hand.

They cut the scene 2 days after she complained. Most likely they were conducting an investigation.
I wouldn't say she was complaining. Its very simple. Contact, tell her you are looking into it, allow her to know you are taking it seriously. Doesn't seem that difficult.

So, some of these newer reviews are seeming a good deal more positive. Still sounds like a mixed bag, but does seem like an Iron Man 3 situation where either it'll really click with you big-time or it really won't.

The Monster Squad comparison is interesting. :applaud Figured there'd be way more Black to the script than Dekker, but honestly that's so crazy a tone comparison it just might be awesome.

Is that really how it went down, though? Do we know for a fact that the whole cast was supposed to go and purposefully didn't, or was this always the way that appearance was scheduled?

The Hollywood Reporter setup up an interview, and they are the ones who reported the others cancelled on them and others. Munn also brings it up.

Olivia Munn Hasn't Heard From Director Shane Black in Wake of 'Predator' Controversy

Munn did show up to THR's Video Lounge in Toronto on Saturday afternoon, but instead of doing an interview alongside castmembers, Munn was joined only by Tremblay after her fellow actors backed out of scheduled interviews, presumably because of the subject matter of the deleted scene. After doing a joint interview with Tremblay, Munn sat for a solo interview in which she discusses what she did after finding out about Striegel's background, what she thought of Black's apology and how she feels about doing promo on her own in the wake of this story. "It’s a very lonely feeling to be sitting here by myself when I should be sitting here with the rest of the cast," she said.

What a bunch of scumbags. Wasn't Black's biggest fan to begin with but this and cast reaction, makes me sick. Class act by a boy in man's clothing for JT though, you show them Jacob, well done young sir.

Not seeing the movie now and no longer consider myself Boyd's fan. Shame on all of them except for Olivia and Jacob

I thought you weren't anyway? You've been in here saying it looks garbage and The Nun will destroy it.

I watch a lot of garbage and it never stopped me from watching more. i was going to see it for Holbrook now I have no reason.

And The Nun will destroy it even though it's garbage fight at that point

I dunno if NUN will destroy Predator or not, but NUN is doing well.

Good on Olivia for speaking up and absolutely shameful of the rest of the cast. This is the major problem in Hollywood. People don’t speak up because they’re too afraid and then when people do they’re treated like crap the way Olivia has been the last few days. Shame on Fox and Shane Black.
