Shane Black Directing Predator Sequel! - Part 2

Some more Tweets from SDCC:

Shane Black says they started this story that The Predator’s on their home world aren’t too happy about at least two of their champions being killed on Earth and that they may want to “punch back” as a result. #ThePredator #SDCC #HallH
Black says that there are factions of Predators that evolve. They have hunted creatures all over the universe and adapted these traits to combat humans (and more) #ThePredator #HallH #SDCC

Spoiler for the second clip they showed:

Just saw a scene where the super Predator fights the normal Predator and the battle ends with the super Predator brutally ripping off the normal Predator’s head and backbone.

Whereas the banter in 1987’s Predator was very macho, this feels more crazy and funnier. More relatable. The cast blends really well together. Black got a good group together for this. #ThePredator #SDCC #HallH

Cool. Sounds exactly what I imagine after the last two trailers.

Honestly, not a huge fan of this news.

This is cool.

Yeah, I don't like this. What do they exactly mean by "punch back"? Because 2 Predators failed, they want attack earth? If they were so pissed about it, the Elder Predator wouldn't have rewarded Harrigan.

Yeah, they're supposed to be honorable!

New Predator leadership maybe?

Parts of the Predator's reasoning might be sketchy but the positive Tweets about the cast and the funny moments sold me.

Maybe those Elders weren't in a position of power.

In any case, it still doesn't make sense. If there was never a threat to the Predator, the hunt wouldn't be game, it would be a walk in the park, and now they're apparently annoyed that some of their hunts have failed, and they're mad at us? If they're that pissed off with humanity, then surely they have the firepower to wipe us out from orbit, but instead they're sending down more of their soldiers who may yet continue to be killed by us?

New Predator leadership maybe?

That depends. Are they all governed under one leader, sort of a Predator King, or are they all made up of different tribes?

I thought Predators were supposed to be sort of nomads. Different tribes, with different codes of conduct for the hunt. They hunt for sport. For the challenge. Or just for the bloody fun of it. When you died on a hunt, well, **** happens. You were bested by your prey.

Yup, it makes no bloody sense. Like you said, the hunt is supposed to be challenging. And with challenge, comes the risk of dying during your hunt.

It actually makes lots of sense and is a great premise.
Can't wait for this!

Maybe the new Predator leader is a former TV personality on the Predator homeworld and despite having a ton of financial resources, he's kinda dumb and has a really fragile ego.

"They killed two of ours and what do we do? We reward them! It's sad. Really really sad. Do you think the Xenomorphs would reward them? No way. No way at all. And I'll tell you something else, there are many Predators, many many Predators, who agree with me. And they say 'Why aren't we sending more Predators back there to flay these humans and tear their spines out?' So we're going back and believe me, we're gonna win this hunt. And it's gonna happen within one hour."

Great speech!

That sounds amazing! :o

That new SDCC poster is one ugly mother****er! :D

I know I'm being Debbie Downer here, but we had super Predators already. So again, how is this really different?

We also got a diverse team in that movie as well. This is honestly sounding like "Predators 2: But On Earth This Time", but I won't care much if I enjoy it.

The movie is still getting tweaked according to Black himself but I think he meant the effects more than the story. How he intends for this story to play out is going to be interesting because it sounds like it can go very wrong quickly or he can deftly write it successfully. At least he was involved with the first movie (though the same is true of Ridley Scott and we know how that turned out).

Yeah, I don't like the sound of that.
