Ah so I was right when I said that one picture looked like a female Pred

The revenge angle makes sense only if they include AvP and from what we have heard so far AvP 1 at least is canon.

We invaded one of their temples, violated sacred ground, and almost caused an extinction event by accidentally releasing a Xenomorph queen. The loss of that sacred site and the queen had to be a massive problem, plus taking into account humans were a former slave species to them thousands of years ago that became uncontrollable.

They may be starting to view humans as no longer just worthy prey, but potential competitors.

Now if Prometheus is canon, it even creates a bigger dilemma with humans being primitive offshoots of the Engineers, most likely a former major threat to the Predators.

If Prometheus is canon I want them to find a way to have an Engineer and Predator square off (we know there are a few of them still out there). Engineers are bigger and stronger than humans, the physical equals of Predators which could make for a good fight.

As for the "revenge" angle, it just doesn't make sense. They are hunters, sure they give themselves all sorts of advantages, but there is always the chance of losing to the prey.
It's more like they would be "Hey, they bested 2 of us, they are becoming better sport, let's put together a hunting party and bag some new trophies.".:cwink:

Engineers? They're all still out there.

If Prometheus/Covenant are canon, then (from the perspective of this new Predator film), Prometheus and Covenant haven't happened yet (they're set in the future) so that civilisation/planet (that shouldn't have been there) Fassbender wipes out is still there at the moment.

I've not been been keeping a close eye on this film. I didn't realize Jake Busey had been cast as the son of his father's character from Predator 2.

Someone here was asking for a script? I have 2016 version if anyone is interested, a lot of changes were made to that one, though

Will premiere at TIFF
“This year’s Midnight Madness slate promises another idiosyncratic confluence of established and emerging genre filmmakers,” said Peter Kuplowsky, Midnight Madness programmer. “To complement some of the buzziest provocations on the festival circuit, I have sought to curate an eccentric array of world premieres that demonstrate the dexterity of genre cinema as a canvas for both sublime satisfaction and stunning subversion. That includes the section’s two much-anticipated sequels, ‘The Predator’ and ‘Halloween,’ each of which boldly and brilliantly builds upon its mythic iconography to thrilling and surprising effect.”

So here’s our first idea of what the Predator hounds look like in the film. Definitely different from the Pred-dogs in “Predators”.

That Hound just looks like a Dog version of the Predator, where if I'm being honest (and maybe I'm looking into it a bit much) I impractical. We have Dogs on Earth, they don't look anything like us, so a Predator Hound should simply resemble yet another alien creature with four legs, a head, and a mouth - it doesn't need to actually resemble a Predator.

So we've had two Alien vs Predator movies.

I now want a Dog Alien vs Predator Hound movie!

I agree it's a lazy design. They just took a Predator head and slapped it on a dog.

Wish they would’ve just kept the design of the hell-hounds from Predators. They looked so badass.

I concur.

The only explanation that I'll accept here is that they've been genetically modified; that seems to be the theme of this film doesn't it? It's therefore possible (annoyingly so) that the Predators have either started splicing their genes with that of their wildlife, or they created these new doggys in a lab somewhere and use them for the hunt.
