Shane Black did (perhaps jokingly) say the mega Predator there would use them to bite someones head off in a fight.

Thought it was a joke, but yeahaccording to CBRclip shown of Munn being attacked by a female Predator
The revenge angle makes sense only if they include AvP and from what we have heard so far AvP 1 at least is canon.
We invaded one of their temples, violated sacred ground, and almost caused an extinction event by accidentally releasing a Xenomorph queen. The loss of that sacred site and the queen had to be a massive problem, plus taking into account humans were a former slave species to them thousands of years ago that became uncontrollable.
They may be starting to view humans as no longer just worthy prey, but potential competitors.
Now if Prometheus is canon, it even creates a bigger dilemma with humans being primitive offshoots of the Engineers, most likely a former major threat to the Predators.

Engineers? They're all still out there. If Prometheus is canon I want them to find a way to have an Engineer and Predator square off (we know there are a few of them still out there). Engineers are bigger and stronger than humans, the physical equals of Predators which could make for a good fight.
This years Midnight Madness slate promises another idiosyncratic confluence of established and emerging genre filmmakers, said Peter Kuplowsky, Midnight Madness programmer. To complement some of the buzziest provocations on the festival circuit, I have sought to curate an eccentric array of world premieres that demonstrate the dexterity of genre cinema as a canvas for both sublime satisfaction and stunning subversion. That includes the sections two much-anticipated sequels, The Predator and Halloween, each of which boldly and brilliantly builds upon its mythic iconography to thrilling and surprising effect.
Wish they wouldve just kept the design of the hell-hounds from Predators. They looked so badass.
