^ The very same.

I'd like to see a Predator hunting in a different era of time. They are attracted to heat and war right? How about the Crusades? Or the Spanish expansions into South America? Or the the Pacific theater in WWII?
Even just hints or flashbacks showing more of the mythology whilst in a modern day setting like the conflicts in the Middle East. That could be a good way to show Predators on Earth during the Crusades. Could show how the conflict in the Middle East hasn't really changed in hundreds of years. A bit of intelligence to go with the spectacular action and tense horror elements.
Is the Shane Black directing this movie the same Shane Black that played Hawkins in the original Predator movie with Ahnuld?

The movement is another thing they have to get right. The Predator is just not the Predator, if he doesn't have those graceful movements. The mixture of brutal savagery and grace, is one of the reasons why the Predator is so interesting. Without it, he's just some random hulking beast.
I thought Ian Whyte did an amazing job, re-capturing Kevin Peter Hall's movements in AvP:R. While the whole movie was just terrible, at least the Predator was still a delight to watch.
Not sure who "came up" with the movie idea but there is a Predator comic storyline called Race War that's set in Prison.

Cold War which takes place in Siberia would be another good one to use as inspiration.
So here's a question for you. Who would you cast to play the Predator? Some of the actors/stunt men from later sequels didn't quite seem to fit the bill. They either weren't tall enough, not graceful enough, or worse yet, both.
I kinda like the idea of former NBA star and part time actor, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, playing the Predator. He's certainly tall enough at 7'2". He was quite graceful on the NBA court. And, most importantly (in my mind at least), he studied Jeet Kun Do under the tutelage of Bruce Lee. If anyone can play The Predator with a combination of power and grace, I bet you he can.
They probably won't. Shane Black is currently busy with The Nice Guys. We'll probably hear more about Predator after the movie's release, next summer.
Cool. I'm kinda more interested in seeing his sequel to the first two movies (or will it be a prequel? I guess time will tell) than in Nimrod & Rodriguez's proposed Predators 2.
For one thing, while I think the tone of Predators was a step in the right direction, I have a few problems with the story. One thing is the whole "Game Reserve Planet" story. It takes away the hope for a happy ending. All the survivors can hope for is a chance to be hunted by the next set of Predators.
The other thing is that they pretty much nerfed the Predators. In the first two movies, one Predator took out an entire team of trained professionals who had all worked together for years. In Part 1, a single Predator took out Ahnuld's entire team of highly trained commandos. In Part 2, a single Predator takes out Danny Glover's entire team of highly trained police officers, plus Gary Busey's entire team of highly trained special agents (who actually knew what they were up against and we're prepared for it).
Then in Predators, it takes not one, not two, but THREE Predators to take out a ragtag group of killers (soldiers, assassins, gangsters, etc) who didn't know each other, work together, and had various levels of expertise and weaponry. Yeah, THAT makes sense.
So I'm hoping Mr Black goes back to basics. One Predator coming to Earth and hunting the deadliest prey it can find in the hottest climate imaginable.
So what's everyone's opinions on female Predator's being featured? I saw an interview he said saying he couldn't comment on such things yet.
Yay or nay?
Completely different clan/species of Predators (they even state that in the movie), so different rules. And in fact they DID kill off most of the humans. There were two survivors left by the end (just like in Predator 1 & 2).
