Kind of a surprising choice but I guess if Danny McBride can be in an Alien movie, no reason why Keegan Michael Key can't be in a Predator movie.

Kenny Powers can do anything. Kenny Powers is a god amongst men!!!!

There's more of a precedent for comedy/comedic relief in this franchise than the Alien one.

I hope Mel Gibson and Danny Glover are in this.

Comedians especially the Stand-Up variety becoming actor/actress happened a lot of time. In most of the case, they played a variation of their comic persona. You have the likes of Robin Williams, Whoopi Goldberg, Hugh Laurie/Emma Thompson/Stephen Fry (Cambridge Footlights, Fry & Laurie etc), Bob Hope, Jamie Foxx to name a few.

Key being in a Predator film sound absolutely lovely to me, especially if it's being made by Shane Black. :yay:

He'll probably end up being one of the only survivors to.

Comedy actors can be great dramatic actors. I guess it's because they can create believable characters in absurd scenarios.

Cases in point, Robin Williams (RIP) and Jim Carrey.

Watched Predator for the first time about a week ago, and it was so good. Really loved the fact you don't really see the Predator until an hour into the film. Hoping the new film can capture that suspense. Then again, Black is involved with the project.

Joss Whedon said that comedic actors make the best dramatic actors during the feature commentary on Serenity. That's why many of the actors he casts in his movies have comedic backgrounds.

He was involved with the original Predator as well.

There's no such thing as comedic actors or dramatic actors. An actor is someone who finds truth in an extraordinary circumstance. If they can't do that, they're not good actors. They just get labelled because they're pigeonholed. Robin Williams wasn't a comedic actor who was great at drama, he was just a great actor.

In fact he was one of the writers of the screenplay, as well as playing one of Arnold's team (Hawkins).

Yeah, he's joked before about how he thinks they only cast him as Hawkins so they could get him to work on the screenplay on location without having to hire another writer.

We'll what I meant is comedians. Guys like Robin Williams. Even someone like Eric Bana started off as a stand up comedian.

I cannot wait. The cast has been solid so far. Again, I miss Benny Del Toro because often, he doesn't get the chance to star* in a franchise movies like this.

I'm talking about being the actual lead.

Yeah, it's a damn shame del Toro couldn't make his schedule work with Soldado.

Holbrook is solid though. I've been watching Narcos, couple eps into season 2 now, and he's really good in it. He's also one of the main antagonists in Logan, so he's on the up'n'up.

Speaking of Narcos, I'd would've really liked to have seen Pedro Pascal in The Predator.

Sterling K. Brown has been having a great year, huh?

Holbrook's one of those weird actors in which I don't know where his career will be heading toward to in a few years.

Boyd has a look that's sorta generic, but due to his skills as an actor, it's enough that it places him slightly above Worthington/Courtney/Kitsch (as of right now). He looks like if Drago Malfoy and Ryan Gosling had a baby, haha.

So this will be the test if he has "IT", along with 'Logan'. But I wouldn't be surprised if the role was intended for Ryan Gosling at one point, knowing Shane Black that's a maybe. It would be even weirder if much older, and more ethnic Del Toro was in the running for the same role. With Benicio, you know that he'll have his own spin on the role, since he's an eccentric dude with his own vibes.
