94 millions rings is awesome for any movie in these times.
These box office numbers are a win.If we can hit $500M this is a win
Scumbags, liars, and grifters, all these jerks who went and called this movie a flop before it came out based on disreputable reporting and bad faith actors.

What's even more hilarious/sadder, is that now these channels are playing the victim game. "Marvel star attacked us!" was the title on several videos that Youtube for some reason recommended to me again. I wonder if this will finally convince Robert Meyer Burnett to stop associating with Midnight's Edge and Nerdrotic..
This is not banned explicitly in China. It’s not yet approved and received a release date. Also Disney’s another movie Free Guy is still being screened in China at the moment (and doing ok) so it may wait a bit until its run is done. I wouldn’t expect this to be a smash hit in China though, maybe around $80m anyway it should be enough to push the film into profitable territory if it eventually gets a release there.
I'm still holding out hope for a China release. Free Guy got announced for China 1 week after it came out. Not that Shang Chi will get one as soon assuming it even happens. But I'm willing to wait at least 2 more weeks before I start giving up on that idea. For now at least it's doing great state side.
Plus it's not like they get much of the money earned at the box office there anyways. The Chinese box office number just adds to a good-looking gross but not much to actual net total.Movie studios need to not be so dependent on box office from China anyway. Look at what happened with John Cena and F9: The Fast Saga. Look at Blizzard and Blitzchung.
The entertainment media is run by China's government. It's a gigantic problem.
Exactly. So anyone that says or tries to tell you its banned is selling you a pack of lies or they are being intellectually dishonest. Also, even if it doesn't get released in China, won't be the worst thing to happen.
Domestic Box Office Weekends For 2021 - Box Office Mojo
Adjusted numbers have Shang-Chi at $75 million for the 3-day and $94.6 million for the four day.
$150.8 million worldwide.
I'm pretty sure it's going to be banned it China now. On top of that China(CCP) have a big grudge with Canada right now and Simu Liu is praising Canada is pretty much over for Shang-Chi ever being release in China.
Is that a fact? Did you send this clip to the CCP so they are aware of it? Any particular reason you felt it was relevant to share this?
If people are going to post a clip like this as some sort of gotcha moment for Shang-Chi and Simu Liu...I find that pretty sad and pathetic. An actor shouldn't be shamed for speaking truthfully about how his parents emigrated to a different country to seek a better life for their family and kids.
Are you stupid? Same thing happen to Chloe Zhaos when the Chinese Nationalist pull her old interviews criticizing China and she was later banned. Someone(probably an activist against the CCP) went and found this and this will be over all Weibo very soon. You know nothing about China Vs Canada right now since they holding 2 Canadian Diplomat hostages because of the Huawei(Meng Wanzhou) situation.
Ha, that would be a good sign of continuing MCU domination post-Endgame.Already the 5th highest grossing movie of 2021 in North America and already hit 100 million in just 5 days... a sequel for this couldn't be more obvious.
I hope it at least outgrosses F9 in Na. So Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Spider-Man No Way Home are the top three highest grossing films of 2021.

I thought from the start that there’s a very good chance there will be less than a 50% drop. I think that for a few reasons, first off it wasn’t like it made 200 million the first weekend. Secondly, it has great word-of-mouth and there’s not a lot going on; it doesn’t have a whole lot of competition
Don't know for sure how accurate or slanted this article is, but.....
'Shang-Chi' fans in China call government decision not to release movie a "tragedy"
When Zhao won an Oscar, the news was censored; evidently due to her criticism. So, here we are.......China proved that the criticism was correct by censoring it. LOL.
