Shang - Chi

Also, he's a 45 year old who is still to this day doing some serious kung fu action. I mean, maybe he's starting to reach his limit, but I'd bet he's still in better condition than most actors ten years younger.

( And doing kung fu in a couple of movies, with much higher budgets for stunt work, reshoots, and post-production touchup would probably be easier on him than doing another season of ITB. )

I much rather prefer they go overseas when prospecting for the lead. There's plenty of HK/China actors that's got the goods looking to make that Hollywood breakout sort of like Tony Jaa did in Ong Bak or Iko Uwais in the Raid. Most of the younger actors speak English just fine and I actually want the actors to have a natural Chinese English accent as opposed to an 'ABC' faking one if they go that route, that is. As an Asian person, I can just tell when an American Asian actor puts that Asian accent in films and it's cringey most of the time. Lol.

I'd love this.

Get really good talent, maybe only known in his home territory, and bring them into international limelight... Like Hemsworth.

Or, a complete unknown works too, as long as they have the acting chops and are a good fit.

Marvel casting rarely disappoints, if ever. So, I'm not too worried.

Yeah you’ll need someone...
- physically fit
- funny, able to laugh at himself
- chinese (should go without saying but...)
- wide appeal from west to east

I would say "But Mr Negative is a Spider-man villain", except that honestly, Shang-Chi *should* be the level of martial artist who can take on Spider-man villains just fine.

Yeah but spidey has tons of villains and he’s not likely to get around to mr negative anytime soon. Plus he would be cool to see on screen!

I mean, the skrulls kind of got shunted from the FF to cap marvel so I don’t see why other lesser known villain teams can’t. Obviously not for the big guns but for the smaller ones, share the load

Just dawned on me that they should use this movie to reboot the Netflix stuff.

I'd love to see Luke Cage in the actual films. Iron Fist is one of my favorite marvel characters, but I could do without him and I don't want to see Daredevil or Jessica Jones.

Mr Negative is also a Cloak and Dagger villain. His powers came from the same experimental drug tested on Ty and Tandy. He is also the villain in the recent Negative Exposure Cloak and Dagger comic.

I think the main villains for the first Shang Chi movie should be his family. Finding out his dad is a villain and taking down his criminal empire seems like a solid inbuilt plot for the first movie. Plus fighting his dad and siblings creates some drama as there is the inbuilt relationships.

That could be cool but I honestly can’t think of a better Jessica Jones or Luke cage. Although getting a proper go of iron fist would be amazing

Luke becomes a way bigger deal in the comics after he joins The Avengers. Same with Rhodey.

I think it would be great to see "A" Iron Fist in the Shang-Chi movie, even if it's not Danny Rand. Or at the very least an Immortal Weapon

Luke would fit in perfect with the Avengers. Even more than Daredevil, Jessica Jones or Iron Fist.

I know that, I just mean recasting seems so hard. Except for iron fist lol

I'm not attached to Colter's portrayal, but the few good choices I could think of are too old now. I'm sure Marvel would find someone though. Probably a moot point anyway because the chances of us seeing Power Man in an MCU movie are slim

They really wasted Daredevil, Punisher, Elektra, luke Cage and Iron Fist for streaming.

Jessica Jones, I don't care about her, the rest though should havebeen in the big screen working alongside the Avengers.

In theory since the shows never really flowed up to the films they could all but ignore the shows and give them feature films at some point.

Honestly I've never heard of Shang Chi, so I'm curious to see what they do.

He’s actually really cool. Think half Bruce Lee half James Bond and just a bit of superheroics

Luke maybe, but Daredevil never worked for me as an Avenger. He is fine for crossovers and one-offs, but never should be like a full-fledged Avenger.

Exactly. Only Defender I would want to see done over on the big screen is Luke

None of the Defenders have any business joining the Avengers. Matt Murdoch may be an awesome hero, but he's an awesome low scale street level hero. He's not comparable in capability or scope to any of the actual Avengers.

The only Defenders I want to see on the big screen are the classic comic Defenders: Hulk, Dr Strange, Namor, Valkyrie, Silver Surfer, Nighthawk and a proper Hellcat (not that Trish Walker bastardisation who seems too far gone).

They really need to start over with a proper Hellcat, as I think they've ruined Patsy "Trish" Walker.

The proper Defenders are more than a match for the Avengers.
