We all know what the critics think and a lot of us have now had a chance to share what we think, but I want to know specifically what the audiences you saw the movie with were like.

  • Was the crowd vocal and into the movie
  • Did the audience laugh at the jokes / did they get emotional at any point during the movie
  • What was the chatter like on the way out / did anyone comment on what they thought
  • Any applause when it was done

…any reactions from people at all, please share!

I"ll be sure to report back after i see it later tonight!!!

No reactions during the movie.

Loud complaints about the movie in the bathroom afterwards. I can remember someone saying "that was an hour and a half too long".

In the lobby complaints again. Someone said "I just don't understand why anyone did anything they did".

Outside the theatre people were complaining again. I heard a girl hug her boyfriend and say "give me a hug, that was so bad".

Not kidding.

That was pretty funny. You forgot the sarcasm smilies.

In my screening, people cheered when Wonder Woman showed up and there audible gasps at the end.

Audienced started laughing at Lex Luthor's ding ding dong.

I forgot that. There was a reaction to the ending.

Unfortunately, none of the rest was sarcasm. The reaction was so bad I had to leave because I was still grappling with my own reaction to the film and couldn't handle all of the negativity.

Thanks for sharing that's what i was hoping to get a feel for. All the chatter at the theater in the lobby, bathroom- just like u provided. I was hoping for more positives though. They will come, cuz we've had people here who loved it.

I feel awful saying this.

Please don't let me influence your opinion of the film.

But very few people in the GA will like this. Fans are liking it purely because there are some iconic moments visually. This is an empty, incoherent and boring film that the GA will not connect with.

I simply cannot see it, and the reaction at my screening confirmed it. Lots of people on their phones.

Stunned silence in cinema and I don't think it's with awe, some positive reaction (wow) when WW first showed up in costume though

"Batfleck is insane"- My gf

and me crying in my gf arms when the movie is over

Up until a few days ago, I was 100% positive about this film.

For three years I have defended everyone involved in this film and maintained this would be the film DC fans had been waiting for.

Please don't see me as someone who was lining up with the bat.

Without even the slightest bit of hyperbole, this movie broke my heart insofar as a movie is actually capable of doing that. I have never been do disappointed with a film in my life.

At my fan screening:

- The claps felt forced and not genuine
- No one was very excited when it ended
- Heard people complaining of choppy editing and lex

Forgive me if I don't believe you. Sounds so cliche. Sounds like you're just repeating the complaints you heard from critics. And it sounds as bad as the dialogue in those fake spoilers for the film, you know, the ones where they try to say they know the script and then try and fail to produce some dialogue for it?

Everyone applauded and cheered during my screening. Heard some folks afterward complaining about not enough fighting, but then they complained about other details that didn't actually happen in the film.

Overall, people seemed to enjoy it. My girlfriend is definitely more GA when it comes to DC and she almost cried at a couple of points. I told her about the critic rating and she was in disbelief.

Believe what you want if it makes you feel better mate.

It's 100% accurate to what was said.

TBH, THIS sounds fake to me. There was simply nothing to cheer for, certainly not for the GA. Nothing happens for the first hour and a
half.

The movie got a five minute smile from me at one point.

Thank you thank you for this thread, cause i already planned on filming the reaction after the movie. Hoping to get some thoughts out of the GA aswel. :)

Wait, like filming people as they walk out?

That's a bit creepy and I don't even know if that's legal.

Look, I'm not coming in here accusing anyone of lying. I've been posting consistently about this movie for the last 3 years. As excited as I was to see this movie, it was still just a movie to me. I could not give two s**** about some secret agenda to shift the conversation. If you didn't like it, that's fine. I did. And the world keeps spinning.

With that said, yes, people cheered. Everyone got amped up when WW first appeared. People loved seeing Batman fight. Even Supes got some reactions during his showdown with Bats. Believe it or not, the GA isn't some singular GA golem that shows up at every screening and starts GAing the same way each time. It's a bunch of different people that react differently in different settings.

Sorry the GA hated your screening. Don't project your experience on to me though.

And how anyone can say nothing happens for the first half of the movie is beyond me. I get it if you didn't like the pacing of it or if you don't think they're executed well, but so many things happen.

C'mon man really? Obviously you ALWAYS ask before you film anybody. If i can get some answers then cool. I will say one thing, if my crowd don't clap and the obvious sense of depression is in the air i'll be the first one to my car with my phone never leaving my pocket! :woot:

I don't doubt that the GA where you were didn't like the film. I just doubt that they actually said that. I doubt that they verbatim echoed what critics said.

Friend who saw it in Cali says it's "a good matinee movie to go see when you're high"

AWESOME!! that's taking it to a whole other level, can't wait to see it...

At my prescreening people seemed to enjoy it. There was audible laughter at several points, and of course the reaction to Wonder Woman's entrance. I couldn't really see too many reactions, as I was in the row right before the isle. There was a kid in front of my who seemed to really enjoy the film, and then who I assume was his grandmother who seemed to not care less. The guy sitting next to me had started complaining about how loud "these theaters are" before the movie started, and sure enough he constantly had his hands in his ears.

I didn't stay to ask anyone for their opinions afterwards, but about half the audience did stay to see if there was an after credits scene.

Sorry I couldn't be more help. I pretty much just have my reaction to go on. I'm going tonight with a couple friends (who aren't big DC fans) and I'll keep my eyes open for how people seem to respond to it.

Hey super-dudes. I went to the 8:30 screening last night, and here in NZ that probably would have been its first showing in my town.

When it ended people clapped, there were a few cheers. I was quite surprised.

People stuck around hoping for a post credits scene and there were groans, when there wasn't one (I think WB/DC needs to take a hint there).

As we were coming out I heard 2 little kids talking about it, and one was saying how DC movies had better endings than Marvel movies because the heroes don't necessarily win, or the win but also lose.

Me, I came out a little deflated - I was satisfied it was a good enough movie, but feel that my favourite superheroes deserved better service, it SHOULD have been a GREAT movie. I mean, I came out of Man of Steel feeling like I could fly. This one I should have come out feeling terribly sad for Superman and emotionally worn out. Instead I just came out sort of, dare I say it......oh well.

Still, really glad the audience in my cinema enjoyed it. Cheers.

That's actually a very great discription of your audience and honestly probably the most typical. I sometimes will stand by the doors and linger for a minute or two hear what people say. sometimes even w/out words you can get a feel for how into it your audience was.

These kinds of reports are what i love hearing. Most people know their theaters and the kinds of crowds they normally attract. And movies are just a tad funner when you have an enthusiastic audience and they really get into it. Makes it feel like an event. Even if I come out dislike the movie I will make a point to clap and pretend to be enthusiastic just to spread some goodwill to the movie, it can use some after the beating it's been subjected to lately.
