I just recently noticed how many actors that Smallville has shared with Battlestar Galactica, and there are alot!

Sam Witwer went from being Crashdown on BSG to Davis Bloome on SV.
Aaron Douglas (the Chief on BSG) has played two different roles on two episodes of SV.
Tahmoh Penikett (Helo on BSG) played the dying older brother on Ressurection, then was Wes Keenan, the guy Lex used for Project Ares at the end of S6.
Rekha Sharma (Tory Foster on BSG) was in a whole bunch of episodes from season one to five as the doctor at the Smallville general hospital.
Kandyse McClure (Dee) was one of Dawn's friends in Spirit.
Alessandro Juliani (Felix Gaeta on BSG) has recently shown up on SV as Dr. Emil Hamilton.
Paul Campbell (Billy) had a bit part in Memoria as an FBI agent. In fact, I think most of his scenes were actualy deleted and ended up on the DVD.
Nicki Clyne (Cally) was a waitress on Nicodemus, back in S1.
Callum Keith Rennie (Leoben) was the little girl's dad in Fragile back in S5.
Lorena Gale (Elosha) was Lex's Dr. Foster in S3.
Donnelly Rhodes (Doc Cottle) appeared in Quest last season.
Lucianna Carro (Kat) appeared twice, in season 2 and 5.
Alisen Down (Barolay) played Lillian Luthor a couple times.
Brad Dryborough (Louis Hoshi) played in Subterranean.
Terry Chen (Chuckles) was a detective in Crisis.
Jill Teed (Sgt. Hadrian) was Maggie Sawyer in a few episodes.

I'm sure there are more that I havent even found yet. Now, I know both film (or filmed, in BSG's case) in Canada, but thats a ****load of actors to be in both series'!

I have noticed the sci-fi genre shares alot of actors, for its shows.

Is BSG filmed in Vancouver as well?

It's sort of funny when you see some of the guys playing 2 characters on the show. Makes you wonder how often it happens for people not as recognizable.

YEa it was shot in vancouver just like the stargate shows have all been shot up there and we had a few stargate folks pop in smallville episodes too i believe. Their is probably a good set of actors up there in the area that is used in a variety of shows shot in or around the area.

All Vancouver shot shows pretty much share actors... I think the available pool of actors is a lot smaller in BC than it would be in LA, so there is a lot of the same people getting work up there.

It makes sense with the laws up there requiring a certain number of the cast be Canadian....

realize that SG, BSG and SV are all shot on the very same lot... and all those actors are relatively local... it's just too bad that SV doesn't take advantage of the talent like BSG did.

now, if SV fired all it's writing staff, and replaced them with the now free BSG production crew... I'd cry. SV would jump into a whole new league.

well not all of the sv writing staff is bad there is a few there that are good.

I think the writing has been pretty good this season compared to past seasons. I'm happy with the writing at this moment.

agreed, with the exception of the ******ed acid trip that happened mid season, you're correct. I'm just saying, as good as it's been this year, I'm yet to be 'amazed' by this show.

yea and i bet most of the BSG staff have went to the caprica prequel series that is currently be shot/filmed.

I agree! But I hope to see a season 9 even better than the current one. :yay:

yeah, the midseason episodes featuring Lana brought the writing down a bit, but overall it's been pretty good.

Seriously, she ****ing tarnished what could've been a perfect season and that pisses me off. Everything leading up to Bride, and even Bride itself, was great, then she stuck around and gave us ****** episodes, and now that she's gone we're back to normal.

When did Emil Hamilton show up??

I only remember that guy in season 2 or 3 named hamilton..

he was in bulletproof the doctor who saved john jones. He has like 3 small scenes.

Exaclly! I'm pretty sure that the writers won't make the same mistakes as they did this season. They aren't stupid enough to realize that they need to use lots of cliffhangers just like the first half of the season.

As you said, we're finally back on track now, despide of somethings about "Eternal", and, "Stiletto", is seems.

And we have another actor.... Dominic Zamprogna.

He was Bruno Mannheim on last weeks episode.

What the hell. ManheiM?!

Oh, and there are tons of SV/BSG actors on the new summer show on CBS, "Harper's Island"...

TONS.

Even the guy with dreds who delivered the key to Clark in Covenant and got killed by Bow Wow in Fallout is in it, as is the guy who played Toyman recently in Requiem. (He also played Ronald in the excellent SPN episode with the bank robbery and the shapeshifter, I forget the name of that one.)

Even that woman who played Virgil Swann's daughter in Veritas is in that show.

Harper's Island is one weird little series, though.
