The funny thing is if you called him by his original name (which by the way he had first) people would be all over this movie and it would have a ton of support because they would've thought it to be a Marvel movie. Be it good or bad.

So, other Captain Marvel movie has having a ton of support ?

The movie's gonna be a huge hit. Black Panther, a character most of the audience wasn't familiar with just a few years ago, is now the ninth highest grossing domestic movie of all time. The bigger surprise would be Captain Marvel not being a big hit.

Yeah, because who needs buzz?

I think it's a bit early for that. The movie is a year away. Most people outside of comic book movie circles aren't paying attention yet.

Is there any MCU movie that is not going to be a huge hit ?

Might be from Titans, though.

I'm guessing that's gonna be a hit as well. Ant-Man still made 500 million and I'm guessing the Infinity War hype is gonna be carrying anything with a Marvel logo for the rest of the year.

Video from a distance...

More I see the suit the less I like it. I know they usually pad these costumes to make the actors look bulkier, but he kinda looks a little too padded in that video.

Suit looks amazing, couldn’t be more thrilled that Sandberg is completely embracing the fun and lighthearted nature of the character. Think this movie is gonna be huge. Captain Marvel will be done Justice in live action, what a time to be alive.

I'm going to stop posting on this thread, because I'm just going to be saying the same thing every time something new comes out.

I want Captain Marvel to be more fun, light-hearted and kid friendly than the rest of the DCEU, but that doesn't need to come at the cost of making him an immature, idiotic goofball.

The Captain Marvel I love is mature, wise and assured. He's confident without being arrogant, intelligent without being a smartass and powerful without being aggressive.
By jettisoning the wisdom of Solomon and simply making "Big with superpowers" they have lost the personality of the character.
As much as I hate the costume, using Philadelphia instead of Fawcett and casting a tall handsome muscular Sivana, I could have seen past all of that if they still had something recognisable as the personality of Captain Marvel.

I know this version has been used before, by Roy and Dann Thomas, by Geoff Johns and by Young Justice among others, but I felt all of them were much weaker because of this. I appreciate that these characters change over time, and that different creators have different takes on them, that variation is why I love superhero comics, but this particular version just isn't for me.

To those who do like this version and are excited for the film, I hope you enjoy it, I expect the film to be very popular.
I'm just a bit downhearted that I can't get myself excited for a Captain Marvel film.

I hope I'm wrong and that I like the film when it comes out, but until that time, I'll spare the rest of you my constant crowing about this being "not my Captain Marvel".

Same argument has been presented for Flash, why he is not a mature, capable, responsible and intelligent Superhero right from the first movie ? Usually, in movies, a character is expected to take some 'character development journey', in order to get people invested in that character.

For Shazam, transformation into a mature personality changes him into an adult version of Billy Batson, who is experienced, but getting people on board for a magically powered superhero is not as difficult as making them convinced that magic gives him experience.

A person can have wisdom but can have some fun or act appropriate to his age, just having him act all wise and mature would turn him into another version of Superman.

They should get Tom Hanks for a cameo in this film.

The movie should also feature the song "Heart and Soul".

A 15 year old kid hardly comes across as idiotic goofball.

I don't think they will portray Shazam as arrogant, smartass and aggressive.

That's lot of assumptions.

Teh puffy.

Rumor...

February 28, 2018

Apparently the transformation of this former A list mostly television actor to superhero is going poorly. The results have been awful and the studio is worried that as it stands now, the movie will be a huge box office bomb.
