Glad to hear Sivana talking at least lol
I'm really digging the superspeed effects. They're very simple but that makes them kinda cartoony, which I think it's a great fit. The flying take off in the middle of the city shot was great too.
I wonder how long they plan to keep this franchise though, because the kids are gonna grow up into full adults soon enough. Will they just recast? A single sequel should be fine though.
I can't find the article, but Peter Safran once said that growth spurt is one of the challenge for the sequel. I think that implied that the cast will stay.
So far both Angel and Grazer didn't get taller or voice change explosively. Major growth spurt usually happens during their age now.
Face wise, they're pretty babyfaced. As you said, a sequel should be fine.
I won't worry much because in Hollywood, adults get to play as teenagers all the time. If their voices aren't turning to be deeper than Atlantis, it is.
It does break the immersion a little bit because an actual kid actor as Billy has a charm.
It's the risk of casting an actual kid. Tom Holland has advantages of convincing stature, face and voice of a teenager and was cast when he is an adult. They know his appearance won't dramatically change for a while.
I do wish Billy is younger. He's four years away until he's legally adult, a bit constricting to fit stories or doing time skips during that timeframe.
In Young Justice he was 10 then timeskips for 3 seasons and he's 17 now.
